I love sauerkraut but I don't force it on people that don't. I don't think most players have any problem with Trials being in the game. Just that content is gated behind it.

Oh no! You have to play the game to ....... play the game.

Download one of the many autochess games out there, such as Team Fight Tactics, and sit back while the game does almost everything for you.

Hell, I bet you could con your younger siblings into boosting your account rank as well, that way if you feel inclined to play ranked your account is already far ahead of your own capabilities and you can pretend like you're good at games.

Wait...now that I think of it, why don't you just go on YouTube and watch someone else do it, but still tell people you did it. That's exactly what it sounds like you're after.

That's quite a series of personal attacks with very little substance to address the actual gameplay concern.

The fundamental issue with the current trials is that they promote gameplay that is very different from the core loop of the game.

I personally would love to play the game as intended, but unfortunately, the game is designed as an ARPG, not a rogue-lite - meaning progression should come through consistent gameplay rather than randomized short-form challenges.

I don't really need to substantiate anything, Trail of the Sekhemas is perfectly fine.

If you want to remain hyperfocused on something you heard the devs say about the game before it was even finished being made then you keep holding on to that dream while it eats you up. PoE 1 was an insufferable game, built for folks with no creativity (I bet most of the builds you make are copies of streamer builds), no ability to handle adversity (oh no! I have to manage an HONOUR SYSTEM!?) and no concern for what other people want or what will draw other folks to the franchise.

I spent 50 hours playing PoE 1 before I couldn't stand it anymore, leveling skill gems, chugging flasks ad nauseam and not even being able to use the keyboard to move your goddamn character. I've got 10x that in PoE 2 because it actually feels like a game and not some masturbatory exercise that can only vaguely be referred to as gaming.

You can call these observations and generalizations I've made "personal attacks", but I, personally, feel offended that you're trying to advocate for this game to be more like a game (PoE 1, to be clear) that I only begrudgingly appreciate because it lead to this game.

lol "rogue-lite"....there's a game on Android that you'd adore, it is called "Inflation RPG", pretty good game actually, but you don't have to do much at all, just move your character around and assign attribute points after battles. It would be right up your alley, not much challenge at all.

Holy straw-man, you really don't like being questioned, do you?

You feel "offended" by a game? Maybe it's time to step back and get a different hobby if anything related to games can offend you. Specifically as I didn't advocate for anything, rather you projecting your own biases into what I wrote.

I'll ignore all the other sleights in your text, and assume you cannot make any responses without the occasional ad hominem here or there.
