Top 10 WTF features of POE 2 that I cannot believe we dont have in a game in 2025

Why loading screen each time you check atlas or map or quests....

I actually agree with this one, this one is pure technical. Would really like a technical dev reply this, like if the map (U button) eats 8GB ram on every load or something. I know it's not just a PNG, but sometimes I just want to see the map and if I'm making an extremely lame example, I can screenshot the map, and get similar results by Alt+Tab and it takes 0.3 seconds only. Would really like to know the technical requirements behind the load.

I just realized a mobile p2w game meets everything the OP mention.

You mean Torchlight Infinite? Yeah, that game does a shit ton of things right. Sounds like you've never tried it.
You want the game to be easier, not be punished on death, auto pickup loot, auto sort loot, auto disecnhant loot.

You just want to make the game into an idle mobile game.
QoL features like auto sort and auto pick-up of all valuables have absolutely nothing to do with making the game easier.

Ask yourself a simple question: How does the way it works right now add to the experience?
Everybody should do this simple self-reflection before dumping their brains in here - my opinion.

OK let's do this together as an example: What is the missing auto sorting of the inventory adding to the game experience?
Simple Answer: It forces the player to regularly manage the inventory.
Management Answer: It increases time spent on the game.

Now ask yourself in reverse: What would an auto sort button add to the game experience?
- If the inventory seems full, the player may collect a thing or two more off the ground after using this function

Now taking this example. Is Inventory management a valuable game experience and requiring some extra skill to be proud of?

I don't think so, therefore it isn't making the game easier. It is just more pleasant to play it.
+1. Agree with all points. The point about identifying items, I can see why GGG does it, to make players engage with items they discover. But obviously it gets old really quick. Other reason would be for selling, people may like to "gamble" on buying unidentified items (I have no idea how common this is tho). I would suggest only having to identify uniques. But getting rid of mechanic altogether is fine too.

And yet we are all here discussing that, instead of over there discussing this.

Like giving an ability to pay money to get better pets to get more loot than anybody else? Doesn't sound right.

Then games are not for you, and expecting games to be changed to cater to you is ridiculous. You really give people no choice but to gatekeep the hobby from casuals when you come in and demand the game to be ruined to fit your schedule.[/quote]

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but casuals make up the vast majority of gaming consumers. If anything, you are the outlier. Common sense and QoL changes are a must and half the community agrees. Arbitrary and unfun game design doesn't make your "achievements" in said game more impressive. I got to t15 and I'm done until changes are made and more build diversity is available. Lots of people have/will do the same. If you want the game to succeed long term, don't gatekeep things that make little to no sense. Have yet to hear a good reason for many of the complaints.

I agree. Just curious, everything you wrote is in the undecember xD

You are so right! In fact i have logged like 1k hours in Undecember, and truly i miss so many features that this game has to offer. Granted it is the epitome of P2W, but the quality of life features this game offers is unparalleled.

And now, so that you can all burn me to a stake.... wait for it... in its current iteration undecember crafting > PoE2. Let this thread burn fanboiz! :)

in a more serious note, all im saying is my humlble opinion on the things PoE2 can do better, and im taking the time to write the because i think this game is a 9.5/10 overall, if it wasnt, i wouldnt even bother!

Might want to try Last Epoch, it's miles ahead of POE1/2 in terms of some of it's QoL and game system. Best crafting system in any ARPG ever.

Good points though.

Exactly. Feels strange going into a huge new ARPG release and not have pretty much any of the QOL LE came up with. Feels so damn bad.
