I can only make logical assumptions from the data available to us publicly but it appears that the seeds of destruction were sown back around the time of GG's sale to Tencent. The acquisition decision was based upon the solid production history of the Western client game and the runaway financial success of the Chinese client with its P2W elements available for a price. Lol, even by this list its QoL additions, that many people in the topic want to be added into main client. And not even at the same level as Stash Tabs, that is almost mandatory to buy.

And they made it only for their market.

ive always been the glass half full kinda guy with you guys. always defended you when my friends was getting fed up.

this is not okay. this is messed up and not how you treat your 10+ years of supporting customers.

Why they can't do some "back to back"(one of old) league for now in poe1 most ppl will play and forget about some problems from poe2.

Then they will have time to repair/go on with poe2 without mess ppl.

2 games different but similar, you guys just splitted the community, for sure the work to do to sustain 2 games is more than double!

BTW i'm playing poe2 to try it but i sill prefer poe1.

Allow me to elucidate; I mentioned that the Chinese client had P2W elements and it does. There's no doubt that the ability to pay for a loot pet confers an advantage to the player who does so, over and above other players. Having the ability to resurrect after a death for a fee is also a P2W element. There's certainly other variances mentioned in that topic that aren't P2W but that doesn't exclude the P2W elements that are present.

Culturally, purchasing a game "buff" is quite common throughout China. This is not the only way that Tencent derives income from the China client, but it is additional revenue not available through the Western client.

This is one of the motivators for Tencent to see a PoE 2 delivered, because they know it will be a revenue driver. Particularly in conjunction with the addictive gambling mechanics prevalent throughout both versions of the game and which are known to be highly addictive.

This isn't some random racist remark made by me, but a factual comment to explain why there would be pressure to deliver a particular product by a specified time. It's unclear to me if there will ultimately be a different PoE 2 client for China. For now there is not but it's not particularly relevant to the points I've made. The point is, Tencent has a certain expectation that PoE 2 will be profitable to them, particularly as PoE 1 has been and that results in business pressure that can result in bad management decisions.

You may disagree and not view these things as P2W and that's fine, it's only peripherally relevant to my view of where the internal pressures influenced bad management decisions anyway.

Do what you can the best you can and this is all that matters, you say? Maybe start listening to GGG own words in latest damage control announcements, let me list just latest for you:

- This is not the level of service you should expect from Grinding Gear Games and we are very sorry for the extended downtime.
- You deserve better customer service than we’ve been able to provide despite the best efforts from our team and for this we are sorry.


On top of that there are clients who are locked and doesnt have access to their account due to GGG data breach, which is on company wrongdoing and not on users. They are vocal on forum and still wait for help, so while you enjoying your time ingame there are clients punished for no reason with customer service still far from acceptable state.

I suppose one way to get POE1 fixed is for people to stop playing the painful POE2. That would focus their minds.

Not really, theres no coming back from decisions they made, regardless who made them shareholders or management. Path of Exile og supporters helped funding developement and growing of the title during years, while bigger audience of the secondary project are now funding maintenance of bigger networking infrastructure and developement of both projects.

Failure of any of two projects, only can hurt both simultaneously, theres no potential winning in that scenario.

GGG need start to listen to community which are already coming with nice ideas, example of that is relaunching old leagues while cant deliver 3.26 as brand new content. This would be acceptable solution as there been few great leagues in past, even with some imbalance attached due to past changes to core, would not whine about it.
