Ultrawide support
Hi GGG.
Many of us use Ultrawide screens, as such there was limited support for this in POE and POE2. There was a workaround by using an ASI to enable ultrawide. However this is now being flagged as a map hack / cheat. Removing it makes the error go away. I understand that any injection could flag as an exploit but just using it to enable us to use the full resolution for our monitors enabled a far greater customer experience whilst playing POE2. If this is now not allowed and GGG would prefer us not to use it is there any plans to add native ultrawide support? I do not want to get banned or contravene any EULA. Thanks in advance to any reply. Последняя редакция: JayMiiee#7026. Время: 6 мар. 2025 г., 05:30:22 Last bumped7 апр. 2025 г., 15:21:33

Time for another 160 page thread trying to explain a simple truth:)
In poe UW view does not give any "unfair advantage" because meta builds already do damage at ranges bigger than the default FOV, or have crazy movement speed. If GGG is so worried about fair play, go look into mandatory price checkers and trade bots. And full time bots farming atlas for you. |

This is indeed a shame, and I hope that GGG adds native support for 32:9 resolutions on PoE2, as Diablo 4 supports 27:9 (or 3:1, which is already way better than 21:9) and Last Epoch supports the full 32:9.
In my experience, PoE 2 is actually very well rounded for 32:9. The player cannot do any actions beyond the 21:9 (or even 16:9 sometimes), meaning that you cannot click, walk, teleport. attack or do any action with your mouse outside of the 21:9 boundaries. This makes it fair for people without such resolutions. As for glitches, other than small white rectangles in some scenes, I haven't noticed any actual glitch during the gameplay - the game just feels and plays great. |

" Tell us that don't know what you are talking about without telling us that you don't know what you are talking about. The existence of range builds doesn't hurt the game, a unsupported aspect ratio breaking the game however does. Not only is the increased viewing range a unfair advantage, but also the fact that enemies don't even register the player at a certain range, which can be abused. But we've already seen it in other posts, you're just entitled about the existence of projectile abilities, performing better under certain circumstances compared to old and not so well aged builds from 5 years ago. " Many? More like a really tiny minority uses 32:9, well reflected in the steam hardware survey summary. 0.24% with maybe 0.3% at best across all games is not "many" Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun. Последняя редакция: Pashid#4643. Время: 6 мар. 2025 г., 15:26:37

" I have played about 300 hours of PoE 2 in 32:9 resolution, using mostly a ranged build. I haven't noticed this not even a single time. Either the monsters are already engaged and rushing towards me by the moment I can do anything about it (see my comment above about the clicks not being registered outisde of the 21:9 bounderies), or they are so far away that not even with 32:9 I can spot them. But please, share any sources with a better view of the problem instead of my anedoctal evidence. I'm interested to understand where these comments are coming from, and why there's so much discussion around this topic. The way I see, 32:9 is mostly about immersion than unfair advantage, but I'm open to understand the other side of the argument better. Thank you! |
