There is ultrawide support, namely 21:9. Anything above that breaks the game and got patched out.

The game isn't designed with these resolutions in mind and likely it will never come back. Obviously, using a third party "fix" is not allowed - if you get banned for doing so, your fault.
It didn't break the game, there were minor issues with monsters on the edges of 32:9 monitors, that isn't a valid reason for them to remove the support, which is what they did in poe1, they just slapped black bars over the edges of the screen.

Maybe the devs could do something like have enemies attack you if you have attacked them, that way even if you are outside of their aggro range they would attack you.

That just leads to players getting offscreened if they don't have an ultrawidescreen monitor.
PoE2 is a great tutorial for PoE1.

I don't have enough time to ever be near a point where what I do in this game can be seen as competetive. The thought of cheating doesnt ever cross my mind as I'm just trying to play the game and enjoy it. Here we have a company that actually decided to make their game less ejoyable, intentionally forcing me to use only part of my monitor. It's just baffling..
