I absolutly despise the new ways of ascendency
" Well, it's no that I couldn't run the 4th trial of sekhema it's just that I can't. I'm not patient enough. I've used a lot of my good will until now on the game and this is crossing a proverbial line in the sand for me. I've run out of patience for some of the more "VISION" game design. On exemple could be rare with temporal bubble, cast frost/fire explosion, chilled/shocked ground all on one rare. I died against one of them in the calice trial, I could not approche him to cast 1 skill and die while spamming dodge roll. I mean yeah though shit. Every one have difficulties but a 4x AOE theme rare mobs is bordeline ridiculous. |

Also let me had this, I've been farming trials for the last 3 or 4 hours, sekhema was too frustrating, and I managed to farm all the 3 part in the Trials of Chaos. Now I'm out of inscribed ultimatum, my xp bar is at 0% and all I have to do is buy/farm new keys.
Well let say I do go farm those keys, I'll get XP. What now, will I go try that potentialy really deadly trial or just try to farm my lvl 89 for the rest of the evening? Well you bet I'm not gonna go without at least trying to finish my lvl or I'll loose a few hours of progression. In the long run I've made progress but right now I'm punnished if I don't ascend, I'm punnished if I try and fail and it will wast my time period cause XP lost is the most outdated game mech of all time. I don't know if someone can relate but anyway. It sucks. |

I've revisited chaos with fully ascended character for the sake of eyecandy, wanted to see trialmaster fight for myself. Guess what, I still died to Bahlak 2 times in a row, lol.
In both cases boss died in less than a minute, before tornado cast, but he still launched that dark sky phase, and those "beams" idk what it is called, they have no telegraph on ground, spawn instantly across the arena, and do even bigger dps than tornado. I got stunlocked by one of those beams and died in 2 sec, twice, like it was aimed at me, not "randomly" as wiki states. So the boss loot right next to my corpse. Of lvl 93 character. So yeah, f those trials:) whoever designed bahlak had earned his paycheck, oneshots are proper solid. |

As for 4th floor sanctum, traps there are actually more relaxed than 3rd floor, no flame turrets with tight spots with 3 mines in them, you can roll spam through mirrors and won't get hit. Only quirk is to roll fast after being teleported, to avoid the ground blast.
The real shit there is the clock phase, it is much worse than maven memory game because of random layout. |

Considering Suck'em'ass is designed for evasion ranged dps characters, it has no place to exist as ascendancy gate.

Honestly it's just boring. Why would I want to spend an hour+ pulling levers and touching crystals, while choosing rooms with no downsides every time?
There's nothing interesting about the content at all. Why would anyone willingly choose a debuff? The whole thing is stupid. Then you just die on the boss and have to redo the entire thing over. |

You shouldnt need to run 3 times chaos and then kill the boss if you dont have 4 ascendecy, it should make you fight the boss after first clear, same way we need relics that remove escape rooms, nobody likes pulling "levers"

I agree the ascendency shouldn't be gated like this. Both systems suck. Give me a long ass quest that I can go do from zone to zone to find something but make it possible without gating it behind stones or relics. Chaos is just over tuned and Sekhemas is so boring. It was boring in poe 1. Explain to me why the 7 fight chaos one doesn't give us our 6 points. At the end of the 10 round chaos one if you beat the 10 rounds you should have to fight the trial master to get your final 2. They way it is now you have to do 10 rounds min. 3 times and if you don't get the right keys then you got to go again. Terrible design.

I guess that's because it is a raw system that is much more suited for PoE 1 combat pacing than for PoE 2 supposed combat pacing.
