The giant ape boss (mighty silverfist in campaign) needs a nerf

I saw a suggestion in another thread to change the boss so his first action isn't the red slam. That seems reasonable to me, because it's the hardest to avoid. For everything else, the behavior is completely predictable -- once you learn the moveset, you'll win every time.
SSF Rise of the Abyssal Ice Strike Invoker, high survivability and fast clear speed. Deprioritize armor and resistances; prioritize crafting a weapon and faster start of ES recharge. Build is shown at level 47, end of Act 3. It tore through Act 3 like butter.

I've been hit by him in the campaign and survived. Like the other guy said, his red slam does about 800 damage. By around lvl35 when you encounter him, you should have that much life. Especially if you have some extra ES pieces. But even a pure warrior with only life should have the HP.
try with a shield, see what happens

hate to say it but its 100% skill issue

and by the way he deals roughly 800 damage, if you get about 900 life he will not one shot you

It's a skill issue when pinnacle bosses are more easy than this stupid ape? Sorry, but this doesn't sound right.
Like I said, it's rng depending on his buffs (due to map), his initial attack and the personal build. You won't have these problems with fast fighters/sorcerers or skills like blink. I have 80% armor and about 2k life and he still does one shot me. I am not talking about the campaign ape but the one in the endgame map, "Zekoa the headcrusher".

When I am fighting him already I can dodge his charged attacks (all of them) but the first one is different than the rest, it's faster and he is directly following me. I can sprint into him, I can run away, I can dodge roll all the time, nothing I can do to evade his attack - only when I am close enough but I can't get close enough when he is doing this attack from like 10m away. Only exception is if he has like 500ms or 1 s delay at the start. Then it's possible to get close enough so the rest of the fight is a piece of cake.

sorry usually people complain about the campaign boss
monke in maps is literally the same though, if you have really so much trouble be more careful with your map mods or avoid his map altogether

yes with 2k life he will one shot you, no matter the maps
iirc he deals about 8k at level 80, not sure about the map mods

i personally never die to him and as you said i just walk into him and get behind him, right at the start, i dont use any skill or whatever
you can dodge it at range too its just more difficult

people were complaining so much about the difficulty the game is way too easy right now anyway

here just fast forward to the end
monkey spawns doing the one shot.
No red flash, no warning spawns in one shotting in an area you cant escape.

they just bound progression to interacting with one shots.
fun.....

1st video seems a bit unlucky with the trigger box
2nd video is 100% skill issue
If you think this boss is hard, I'm not sure how you're going to kill Citadel Geonor or Uber Arbiter. Lachlan in maps is harder than this boss tbh, he has a slow and hits hard on his slam and it doesn't have a red telegraph.

It is a skill issue. Roll to the side and not on the line of fire.

There's no need to make up something called a "trigger box".

He was beside the monkey, and died as if being slammed by the monkey. It's happened to me too. I've been very much beside the monkey and still died to the slam myself, more than a few times.

I think there is a bug that his sunder is setting a shockwave off on himself on the jungle version, or something like that. I like that there's a dangerous mob that can kill us but something feels fucky with it.

what i meant by trigger box is the are of effect that any attack has, maybe its a bit too big, considering the visual

anyway complaining about monkey is... 2024, i dont know what i was thinking arguing with a crybaby community (dont get me wrong its pretty much any gaming community)
+1 His first initial slam attacks are too strong like you have no idea he's there and then boom, Killed my hardcore merc >:( was even playing careful but dude comes outta nowhere and just slams you
Never evet got hit by Ape it is hard skill issue. Only sometimes he can hit with some stupid thumble move but its not deadly. If you are eating his slam which has like 1,5sec animation you re a tourist.
