Removing Omens doesn't fix crafting... it just removes crafting

You can’t really give players a system and then just take it away again. Crafting was genuinely fun, and even with all the power it offered, you still had to use ladder techniques to make true BiS items - especially anything that didn’t fit neatly into the existing tag structure.

I actually had high hopes after 0.3. Based on what we saw, I was hoping they would expand the affix pool, because a big part of the problem is simply that items don’t have a very large or diverse modifier pool to begin with. More affixes would open up crafting depth without making everything instantly overpowered.

I also really like the idea of upgrading items through game mechanics like the Temple, but I’m worried we’re heading toward a situation where we spend 10 minutes setting up a room just to brick the item in a double corruption. That’s not meaningful progression - just more sunk-time RNG.

So instead of tuning Omens or replacing them with a thoughtful mechanic in 0.4, we’ve gone from casino → strong crafting → back to exalt slot machines. I understand that GGG wants ground loot to matter more, but I don’t see how this change actually fixes that. I’m still picking up every tier 5 rare just to sell it for gold, and most of it is vendor junk anyway.

This might sound like a conspiracy theory, but I can’t shake the feeling that some kind of crafter lobby pushed GGG toward these changes. Otherwise I don’t really see why they’d remove a system that finally gave solo players a shot at meaningful crafting. Meanwhile, the 20–30-man crafting groups (someone have to farm those omens and currency) will be dominating the market by day three with their mirror-tier items and absurd 1000-divine mirror fees.

Powerful crafting kept me in the 0.3 league until now but i feel like It will be really short patch for me as 0.1 and 0.2

Sure. You can also spend 10 div per try on perfect chaos orb + omen of whittling 50 times to get one affix

Honestly OP it sounds like you dont really know how to craft or have an extremely high expectation on what crafting should provide.


Using a perfect chaos and... omen of whilting 50 times... sounds like you just want something that guarantees a t1x6 modifier item.


Because that's the magnitude of complaint I am seeing with your last response.

You have couple of options without homo omens:

Orb of annulment + transumte on magic base until you hit desired affix. Next what? Lets say there is a good essence to apply to make rare. You desecrate third mod. Cool, what about 3 left? Random exalt slam.

Or you can get rare base, delete all mods and do 1000 chaos slams to get one mod. Next desecrate and what about 4 affixes left?

Maybe you can grab 4 bases and spend 4500 chaos orbs and fracture + pray to lock desired mod, next you can do extra 500 chaos slams for second affix and desecrate. Again, you are left with 3 random mods to do.

Thats not how it should look like.

GGG could lock homo omens to be max T2/T3 and it will be completely fine. But not removing it

So we have departed completely from your original premise. And you have admited here that we are not just

"exalt slot machining"



You should never end up with 3 random mods to do on an item. And then pray exalt slam them.

Unless you are fairly new to the game I suppose.

Removing homogenizing omens was a terrible decision. Poverty league incoming for a lot of players.
I don't understand I've read the notes 4 times never seen a note saying they have removed homogenesis currency. Where did you see that, can someone explain to me how did you understand that they removed this currency.

Did they say it in QA with Ziggy or something? I've skipped that.
