Keep the gameplay slow and meaningful.

Since the other thread got taken down I made another one.
Poe 1 should be zoom zoom Poe 2 should be slow and meaningful combat. I've played both games and it takes 0 skill and I mean absolutely no skill to plow through Poe 1. I've been playing ARPGs since I was a kid and Poe 2 seems to be the next evolution of the genre. Slow and meaningful combat is something that forces the player to have mechanical skill and also knowledge of the game. Poe 2 quickly has turned into my favorite arpg of all time. The fact that Poe 2 is staying the course and that it's putting up 3x-4x what Poe 1 has ever achieved shows that players want this kind of gameplay. Don't let the very small minority who believe they are the majority take this game into their direction. Remember is the same 10-30 people on this forum who regurgitate the same 3 talking points over and over that drown out any real criticism of the game. " I want slower more thoughtful combat too, and I think the reduction of monster density while increasing toughness is a step in the right direction. But I don't agree that PoE1 is a no-skill game. The people who ladder in HCSSF are much better than I am -- though maybe I have less than no skill, ha. On some level, my response is that if you think the game is too easy, make it harder on yourself. Evasion-only melee character that can kill Ubers with cheap gear (SSF Rise of the Abyssal), no armor, no energy shield, 62k eHP:

There is absolutely no way to square the current poe2 endgame with slow and meaningful combat.
For that to happen both breach and delirium would need to be completely reworked along with major changes to the loot structure. As long as we follow the 15+ year old IIR+IIQ formula, killing as many things as quickly as possible is going to be optimal. The reduction to pack size and introduction of monster toughness changes nothing - you're still incentivized to kill as many of those 'tougher' enemies as quickly as possible. That leaves no place for combo based playstyle. |

" Exactly, this would mean they would need to completely scrap POE 2 at it's core to meet the demand. I'm personally happy with faster game play so I will respectfully say -1 to this thread and I genuinely hope the game gets actually faster for the other classes that are not Deadeye. POE 1 was successful for a reason, even though I agree POE 2 should not be a POE 1 clone with better graphics, making it slower is not what I'm hoping for. They need to do an in-game poll with questions like: For end game, do you want slower game play with more meaningful combat or do you prefer faster gameplay where you can delete the screen when your char is accordingly geared?
