Giving up on Vaal Temples

At first I liked the new league mechanic, it was a cool potential loot fest and there was some interaction involved in designing it. However even from the start the room+door placement wasn't well described through the UI and ended up with many disconnected pathways. Then Doryani finally steps in and tells me I need to focus on visiting the architect AFTER I already place down rooms for the run. At this point with the rooms that I've placed and the awkwardness of figuring out where doors are going to end up, I inadvertently have almost entirely surrounded the architect's room with impassible walls. No hope of doing the endboss for many many attempts now until I get just the perfect set of straight right, straight right, straight right, curved down room tiles available.
Improvements suggested: 1. Better UI descriptions of which special rooms can open up doors to other adjacent rooms. Right now it's just a guessing game and can result in endlessly bad runs. 2. Give the ability to wipe out existing rooms. Either a reset all, or some bomb type tile that wipes out what's placed somewhere. This is more of a bandaid for lack of good UI support in placing tiles, but could be useful even with better UI for variety. 3. Don't have Doryani wait until AFTER you place tiles in a run to tell you that you need to visit the Architect before the queen. Last bumped16 дек. 2025 г., 07:45:00

I think the solution is to dumb it down. A lot. Make it so all non-path rooms buff the tier of adjacent rooms. Give us 10 rooms and we pick 6. I dunno. I hate to say "start over" but I was excited for the idea and then saw the implementation for it and the more I played it the more I wish the league mechanic would just go away and get out of my game. Which doesn't leave much since I wasn't interested in Druid and they failed to finish endgame, the most important thing.

The design and mechanisom of temple is just sloggy, non rewarding and anti-fun. I doubt if they test and collect the feedback from users or not.

The fact that you have to bring all your potential gear for workbenches, orbs, and lose 90% of the loot in the temple because you cant TP out and it resets as soon as you leave, I'm never running them again.

" Erm, no? I don't know why it gives the warning about leaving the area.. I've always been able to leave, return, and ultimately close it on the panel when finished. Not entirely sure why or if I have to close it yet but, when I do, I see what rooms collapse. Then more beacons open it again with a new set of cards. If it was meant to be run in one go, I expect there wouldn't be a waypoint and stash there. TP out, use the waypoint to travel to town, sell/fetch stuff, use the waypoint to travel back to the temple, wander back into the temple to finish up, then exit and close it. Then you can walk out to the area you entered from. It's a bit tedious, like the temporal gateway, but when aren't the Vaal? |

Unfortunately this league just sucks. Rampage is buggy, temples are a waste of potential and not worth running... see you in 4 months.

I had high hopes for the mechanic, only to be disappointed yet again.

The basic idea is okay but the design is just clunky as heck.. and WHY in the world are the rooms SO SMALL? Every freaking room is tiny and cluttered with garbage and tons of enemies, with obstacles in the way, who shoot AEs and ranged attacks and degens and all the usual crap. POE1 incursions were a good size, you could move around, but I can't even see half of the mobs. There isn't nearly enough space to maneuver and avoid all the garbage while ALSO fighting bosses and the room spewing damage and other nonsense. It's just the same silly design mistakes over and over and over, come on.
Not to mention a rare camping the door, which locks one-way, so you literally cannot get past without some kind of teleport because dodge-roll just collides.. so what do you then? Why do the doors even lock to begin with? |
