Plea to devs to address the sexism

I think the complaint about the women adorning the UI is a fair one. At least have a turn off option. Apart from that, the rest of the game is not sexist at all. There is an equal amount of fap/shlick material in game of men and women.

i play this game since open beta launch, and it was because of this post i actually noticed the women in the UI...

Maybe you need to study feminism a little bit. The op has valid points and its something that remains a strong problem in a variety of games today. The original Witcher title prompted you to attain cards of "sexually provocative" females and they were heavily criticised for this. Although, this example is a lot more tame, it is still in some regards, objectification of females and as such could be seen as sexist.

However, if you look at the GGG staff, there are women present in the team, although I would not presume they are active feminists.

I don't really see the game being changed that much however. For instance, Piety is made to be a very powerful female figure in the game and as such this kind of suggests that GGG aren't sexist or they wouldn't have given this powerful "end-boss" characterisation to her. Furthermore, as Bhavv will probably attest to, there are statues with cocks in the game, much like there are statues of females. So in fact, you would say it is rather fitting with the lore of the game that they chose to adorn the mana/life bars with these "beautiful women". They could of tried to do a male and female, but I fear the lack of symmetry would have unbalanced the composition of the aesthetics, and after all, Path of Exile really isn't a game trying to promote equality/female rights/male rights.

It's MARKETING.

GGG knows their market. You are a female gamer therefore a minority.

Deal with it.

They want to attract boys to their games.

YOU might have a problem if something this small makes you so uncomfortable.

Part off part on topic, but I would love UI or HUD or whatever you wanna call it micro transactions akin to the kinda thing you can get in DotA 2. Seeing as we're not allowed to change things ourselves the least GGG could do is to get us to pay for changes :D

Did you read my whole post or just get angry at the first sentence? I did actually in conclusion, disagree with the complaint, just not in such an aggresive manner as some of the primary repliers. However I was empathetic in understanding how another person could see this as sexism and why. People are allowed to have an opinion and this one is more constructive and less obnoxious than a lot of other complaints on these forums. Chill out.
