The Savant node on the left side of the duelist's starting area should be relocated to a place alongside the real paths people take when going in that direction.

Moosifer: just to specific, are we both talking about the path of a single Str/Dex node that allow builds to go directly to Gallantry from the top side of the Parry circle?

In history, the sword and dagger form was a very common European dueling technique. A very interesting overview is given here: http://l-clausewitz.livejournal.com/392125.html.
Ideally, I'd love to be able to play a Duelist along those lines. One possibility would be a fast sword with additional elemental cold damage in the main hand with an 80% global crit chance dagger in the off hand. Possibly double strike could work for the single target attack, but there's really nothing that fits for area attack unless you do something really really odd with infernal blow, add cold damage, and cold to fire. What is needed is a main weapon only area attack compatible with the passives available to the Duelist, otherwise sword and dagger is just another way to gimp yourself. PS: In regards to your earlier idea regarding a tradeoff of something for increased block chance based on accuracy, what about simply using accuracy itself - a passive node that trades off a 10% decreased accuracy for a 10% increased block? |

" I'm not sure what you are saying about gallantry (I just woke up, might be why). There's really no change to that at all, a ranger would get it on the bottom run after grabbing IR, getting diamond skin and on their way to US, duelist would grab it after frenzy charge or golem's blood. " I was thinking about the antagonist in R.A. Salvatore's books, The Dark Elf - Artemis Entreri. While being an assassin, rather than a duelist, that is closer to how he fought - And took advantage of the differing weapons in each hand. It could be an interesting option. Playing a dual-wielding swordsman of some kind.

" Since builds that are likely to get Parry will also likely to get Golem's Blood - dual wielding builds even more likely so, - why have the strength or dex node that connects Gallantry to the entrance of the Parry cluster on either side? They are superfluous and breaks the usual format where stat highways are only allowed near the spokes of the passives tree. There's no change to gallantry. Like I said I put it inside that ring for cosmetic reasons, it's not connected to anything on the inside. Basically rather than it hanging down like it currently is I moved it north, otherwise unchanged.

To make it better i would only reforge the start, its way too restrictive into too specific nodes... I like to make a bower and im stuck using the less worse path because in between what i want and where i start there is a shitload of weapon type specific
Not to mention the lack of Physical damage% nodes... they are once again too specific. also the start has few bow stats and then boom nothing ZiggyD is the Labyrinth of streamers, some like it, some dont, but GGG will make sure to push it down ur throat to make you like it
