How is your mental health?
I'm in therapy for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder amongst other things from a colorful childhood. You've mentioned that you served in the military and went to Afghanistan. Some of the things that I imagine you've seen could be a catalyst for depression and may be reasoning for your current situation. Plus being surrounded by others who are in a desperate state of affairs would also be draining on a positive outlook. I apologize if these questions are too personal for a public forum but I ask only because I'm genuinely concerned for your well being. You have been very forthcoming in your posts and I feel as if I'm starting to get to know you. I wont prey for you as I'm not religious but I'll send as many positive vibes as I can. It's kind of sad seeing some of the true crazies stuck in cycles where they don't get proper help. In any case, I count myself among the recently crazy rather than the currently crazy. Perhaps optimistically. Got psych appointments on Fridays. Yes, this means a good portion of the time I've been posting here I've secretly been stark raving mad; fortunately, I don't think it had much negative effect on my post quality. If anything, these forums were the one place I could be sane, while everything else was falling apart. When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted.

I'll be good. I'm a Paramedic. It's just terrible timing. Our contract was not renewed(ends in Feb) and with it being January, everyone is doing end of year Budgets, so nobody is Hiring. And my boss is now under investigation for prescribing himself Morphine, as a result 2 contracts were pulled. I might be stacking supermarket shelves for a while until something comes around again. strap on the "we eatin rice again" boots and should be fine. Plus I assume there is some kind of welfare that will help make ends meet. For all the tax I pay, im owed some returns. I just hope it doesn't go so Pear Shaped that we live in the car. It has made me realise though, Hard work =/= Security. You can be the ripest, juiciest peach in the world,

Well I recently lost my job too, but my problem is that the industry I've been working in for almost a decade is becoming obsolete and dissappears. Starting a new career from a scratch at age 30+ is a bit of a task.

" Dude, construction jobs are in 80% shady black market here. No papers, no contract and 50/50 RNG chance to get paid. Most of the people working at a construction I know didn't get paid shit at least once in the last year.
