Mini-Expansion: Passive Skill Tree Reset [Dev Info]

Yes, there will be changes to the passive tree. Specifically the Marauder, area between Marauder and Duelist and Witch will have large changes. The Shadow and Scion starting areas will have some changes, but many of these will be numeric.

Honestly, the question was more apparent there than here with all the IIQ and Legacy QQ around.

Qarl probably saw the question there first. Also reddit population is way smaller,
it is easier to see unique questions of individuals there than it would be here.

Another possiblity: Chris scheduled the information for a official announcement here on the official forum but Qarl did not know this or was allowed to post it anyway. Qarl also was very short on information. Either many changes are not set in stone yet or he simply did not have much time for browsing the interwebs.

That may be so, but they could post some infos/FAQs pertaining to upcoming changes here, on the official website for the game, to inform the playerbase. The impression this leaves is that if you want up-to-date info on POE you have to follow reddit (I hate reddit; it's a mess). Unless the changes are still not set in stone which 2-3 weeks before release is rather unlikely.

In the past they were even hesitant about information in the last week before the big patch hit the realm because many changes were still in QA, open for final adjustment on day 0.

I agree that there is that impression. However if you compare the GGG tracker (excluding support staff) and Reddit, there is not much of a difference in number of posts by development staff. Some Devs also don't use Reddit at all. The forum got issues but GGG not being present isn't one. I would love for them to modernize the forum so information is easier to pin-down in general.
