I'm sure looking forward to the Witch tree changes, maybe we'll finally get some passive penetration for our spells or maybe some decent boost. Shadow starting area changes sound neat as well, let's see if they're changes for better, not for worse! :D

First of all I find it important to point out that as always, the prevailing mentality is to nerf the one working defensive mechanic, as opposed to fixing the others that don't work.

Evasion sucks by default because of entropy meaning you have 100% chance of taking a hit in a long fight.

Armor doesn't mitigate big hits by much.

Dodge nerfs both your armor and ES and has a low max chance.

They all need a tweak.


Block is the only fairly reliable way to get some consistent damage mitigation, if you give up dps and invest in the nodes and gear. This is why it is so popular at the top of the ladder. Its the most reliable way to deal with reflect as well, and in fact is the only real option besides vaal pact or the often idiotic suggestion to intentionally nerf your own dps and crit.

TLDR of this: They cannot possibly nerf shield block or spell block without lowering the cap because gear alone can cap both of them.

Can people drop the forum vs reddit thing already? It goes answered on reddit because it got asked on reddit, period.

I don't know. I think it's sort of indicative of how out-of-control they've let these fora become that they feel the need to post on reddit at all, Vaine. This forum, the 'official' forum of Path of Exile, isn't 'home' for the devs anymore. They've been run off their own forum.

That definitely isn't something that should be dropped.
