A couple of examples of how the economy is already getting screwed for the majority of players

A top end item goes for 91 gcp after a week, with someone else bidding 14 exalts on it. Really? There is no way that multiple people could realistically achieve that kind of wealth after a week by just playing the game. Maybe they found 4 exalts already and had 10 friends give them one, or maybe they found 14 noobs with no idea what an exalt was worth to sell a spell totem or lmp gem to. Or maybe they just acquired all their wealth on d2jsp? I know which one is more likely.

If people want to use d2jsp that's up to them, but it's completely screwing the economy for people that don't use it. How would a non user be able to compete with that kind of spending power now? And if that's the price of a top end item after a week, what will it be after a month?

Example 2 - http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/84559/page/1

This person is multiboxing not botting so it's ok? But the reason their characters are level 35 is that is the level needed to enter merciless, this person is not multiboxing for fun, or to see what they achieve but purely for profit. Their motive pure and simple is to exploit the group party bonus by boosting their characters to 35 and through all the quests in the game, they can then summon them into a high level zone or map to exploit the party bonus. Even if GGG were to fix the party bonus so that you had to be close to other players to receive the bonus it wouldn't matter since they just multibox their characters up to a high level and have them on follow around the zone.

In conclusion you better multibox or use d2jsp if you want a snowball's chance of hell of matching other people's spending power, even if you play legit 24/7 you won't be able to do it. I guess that leagues, especially the shorter ones where trading stuff will cost you too much time are a partial solution. People predicted default ending up with inflation problems but at this rare rampant inflation is going to happen far far sooner than anyone thought. It will also happen to hardcore pretty quickly.
suck it up. This is reality like it or not. People arent going to hold gour hand for you.

I check PM's regularly.
I truly think in the end this is a question of jealousy.

For example, I have a level 71 marauder in hardcore. I haven't 'bought' a single item or skill ever. Not one. I frequently give away gear, and I've been given a piece or two in return. I made one trade, giving someone a few chromatic orbs for a fusing. That's it.

You don't need to twink out your character to do well in the game. If that ever changed, it would be an issue for sure, but as it stands with a little patience and some luck you can play just fine with self found gear.

At first I was like many, a bit pissed that people would just monetize the game and exploit it to become virtually 'rich.' But when I think more about it, it really doesn't affect me at all. I don't care about having best in slot gear and I play the game for the reason it's intended: to have fun. I have a life outside of poe (though not much since launch, lol) and I think it's a little sad to be so wrapped up in an online game where you're legitimate self worth starts to depend on what fake items your fake character is wearing in a virtual world.

So if you have a problem with people buying their items outside the confines of normal trading, ask yourself if it really affects you, or if instead you're just upset you don't have the shiny things that they do. Sure, they cut a bunch of corners to get there, but as long as you're having fun playing the game, does it really matter?

He in no way is begging or asking for hand holding. hes bringing up a legitmate point that people are paying for power, Something im sure a lot of Higher end players are already doing, because lord knows its faster than farming.

I mean in trade chat/global everyones already talking about how item values are now valued by thier D2Jsp forum gold number.

Im just saying, a boulder rolls downhill, its only effectively striking high end gear right now, but itll start on down in due time. And sadly theres little one can do, as its unfair to ban people I think.

Ill jus solo and play with a friend, and just farm but as is Trading in the 50/60's is just not worth it. Hunt for good linked whites and craft em is far safer than anything else.

I truly wonder if dev team is reading this thread, planning a quick resolution of this issue, programming gcp loottable to be something found even if you destroy a barrel, making this entire item so easy to find and widespread to be worthless, and put online a new worthy item, destroy completely the goldseller economy. At least as promised , reading their currency post..

It's going to happen. GGG has chosen not to go anywhere near that money, hence why you can't trade gear cash or premium items.

So 3rd party parasites provide a service for the players who want it. It's crazy to think a freeware game can turn a profit without tradable tokens; we'll see I guess.
Perosnally, I don't care about D2jsp users, It isn't like I shake my fist at them like they were kids I wanted off my lawn. My problem comes when we have a brand new, very shaky economy that can now easily be twisted by what d2jsp can offer.

Again, not doomsaying, but I can't fit together a single situation were this ends well for the economy of PoE, and I dread the moment that the only way to find good gear is

Luck+patience(im not lucky >.>, but I do enjoy farming for gear/stuff)

Go to a site like d2jsp, or any other site and swipe a credit card. I don't want PoE to get an economy ruled by a 3rd party site, It just can't end well.
Why people are surprised by this?
It's been a year since I joined this forum and it has already been discussed, especially in light of the RMAH in D3.
People did this in D2 and they will do it in PoE.

A couple of examples of how the economy is already getting screwed for the majority of players

Why do you think this affects the majority of players. I do not think the majority of players play-to-win. They play-to-have-fun, just like me. I do not care if people want to spend real money to obtain the uber-items or are filthy rich and have hundreds of top-orbs.

It seems like 99% of the people in this thread have never used d2jsp.

It's basically a trade forum where you can use forum gold instead of having to sit in the limited trade channel and spam for gear.

Almost nobody pays for forum gold on d2jsp with real money. You get forum gold by selling items in game. You then take your forum gold and buy items in game. Basically just connects buyers and sellers more efficiently than trade chat.

Also the people complaining about stuff being sold on e-bay?? Are you people that naive?? ANY GAME THAT IS REMOTELY POPULAR will have items for real money on 3rd party websites. Welcome to society, welcome to human nature. Welcome out of your cave or basement or whatever you've been since online gaming has been released. Either way this game is not about the gold grind like D3.

Also play hardcore if you are so worried about the bots or multi-boxers - most likely few to none on there.

I play on hardcore and the trading atmosphere and economy seems 100x better than default.
Until you die ;)
