Undying Evangelist vs Arc

Just a quick thought;

Arc isn't a projectile, but it still gets clobbered by the proximity-shield which is used by the Evangelists.

It's a rather isolated issue since Arc is a nice skill othertwise, but since Arc isn't a projectile (which in turn means that you can't link it to several nice projectile support skills) it's silly that it gets a bit screwed over by the bubble as well.

Storm Call ditto, but not sure if that should be nerfed. Its just supposed block all from outside.

It sure is.

The "problem" is that it's then rather "unfair" that a Lightning arrow-build benefits from more gems than Arc does.

I don't have any specific mechanic or change in mind. I wanted to point out that arc gets punished.

The bubble protects against ranged... not against projectile.

Shagsbeard said what I was going to say. Has nothing to do with projectile or not. Flameblast can't go through it. Incinerate can't go through it. Ice spear can't go through it. See a pattern? If you are not in the bubble, nothing you do will hurt the monster inside it.

Well, yes and no. Poison arrow cloud damages them (or they did before my ranger died in invasion, not sure if that's been changed) and Ball lightning affects them from a distance as well. Spectral throw can also go through, no? I've seen totems doing damage as well.

However; a lot may have changed since last i played. I've been out of PoE for 10 weeks or so, stuff might've been changed.

The bubble is a "proximity" shield and not a "projectile" shield, so it protects against anything if you're standing outside of it.

For example, I can't hit an evangelist using Reave when I'm outside the bubble. So yeah even melee attacks with long range gets screwed.

Fair enough. But the core problem still stands: Arc won't benefit from supportive gems which Reave will. Neither will Arc benefit from Projectile supportive gems. As i write in the OP, it's a very isolated issue.

Maybe this is why arc has such high dmg..
