Character Names, Confusion and Aggravation

Yet another can't find a name post. Sorry OP, been going on since Closed Beta.
My suggestion? Try different languages. I like Latin myself, but many names sound awesome in Spanish. Or try Romanian. Google Translate can make easy for you. Also use the underscore. I have made several new characters recently using a theme. Alpha_ Beta_ and so on. Once I'm done with them, delete and move on to the next. |

Here is what you do... you pick an acronym like for example "IB" (IsBox) - and now you tag that to whatever name you want - either at the beginning of your name or the end:
IB_Killing IB_Culling PopularName_IB It's literally that simple. I have no clue why people get so caught up in naming their characters. Every single one of mine is named after the skills they use - and I have like 10x level 80s and never once had an issue with naming them using the convention I listed above. |

Try again without being so antagonistic.
Yes D2 required unique names. That's where I originally started using MoonYu. But the point you were trying to make (I believe anyway) is that people need to stop crying that someone beat them to a favorite name like Batman, Thor, or other. While many dislike unique naming, many do, but guess what? Its GGG's choice. Not ours. |

I also get a little tired of this petty thread coming up every week - like these guys can't forum search and stick their (honestly petty) complaints about character names in one thread or in the proper sub forums. There are 99 problems with this game, and naming conventions ain't one. Oh sorry, if it is, it's pretty much problem 10000 on the list in prioritization. |

Yes naming isn't a problem. It effects nothing about the game. Yes people are going to continue to post about it. Its human nature. I know how to do a search on this forum, but rarely do when I have something add. Again, human nature. I too have expressed anger over seeing the same posts over and over again. Been here for almost two years now. Got bad enough that I spend most of my time in Off Topic. So please take some friendly advice and tone it down. You can still make your point and be polite about it. But know this, the ones that hate the naming system are never going to agree with you. Human nature again. |
