Character Names, Confusion and Aggravation

By the way, I've been wondering lately if the whole contacting GGG thing applies to account names also. Id like to have my account name be Niz but apparently somebody took that lol.. probably was my damn brother in closed beta.

Niz is also taken for character names.

Yes it did. In D2 your character name had to be unique.

LOL.... I'm not the one complaining. Failed character name attempts are a pain, more disappointing really, but I have no problems coming up with names I like. Of course, Drizzt, et. al., are never names I would try to create or emulate. I want a unique, my own, not someone else's name.... and thus don't participate in copy-catting well known names and their various misspellings.

Here's my response again:

Step 1: Pick your nick name (Example: Galtrovan)
Step 2: Pick the part you like the most - GV - or Gal - or Trov - or Van
Step 3: Add that acronym to any character you make: GV_Drizzt, Van_Legolas, Trov_Smog, Gal_Trovan
Step 4: Profit


Personally in your case, I actually like the GV. I would go with that. Or what if you even go with a motif like Dr_ or Doc_ or how about Nurse_ or PHD_ - Mr_ - (Mr_Pink, Mr_Black) - man there are so many things you can do.

How to solve problem:

Assign a random number, your original account name or whatever to the character name when you create a character with x account

Done

When you add people you put in 2 fields
