New Mob: Plumetting Ursa, the new Devourer

You all make a very good point regarding Fellshrine's aesthetic. Hm. Maybe some other area in Act 2 can play host to the Big Bad.

Broken Bridge is too desolate.

Riverways has Tailwhatsis.

Southern Forest has no boss, which means right now it's just a 'running' zone to the town. Maybe there?

I like this idea.

You've just finished Merveil, you're tired, probably a little groggy from dodging water funnels, and thinking "A nice walk in the sunny forest will clear my head."

BAM, face gets torn off.

It's almost poetic.

Massive thanks to GGG for producing such a fun and engaging game, it has taken up faaaaaaar too much of my life over the last 5 years.

Best of luck in the future!

If anyone dies to these theyre just bad at the game.

pretty much

theyre so cute, i think theyre my favourite mob now after encountering a few today. Theres really not time to react with the sound, they pretty much make it as theyre dropping on your head, but thats fine because the damage is balanced with other mobs in the zone. If you die to these things u were probably going to die to a monkey or a gorilla anyway, and presumably it would have to happened before you encountered a snake.
I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)
Cross post: Fellshrine could work if GGG were willing to apply a decaying / zombie-ish skin to them. I see no reason why zombursa couldn't be a thing. Seriously, I'm an instant fan of anything that can be resurrected by necros.

Also, we need a unique map. Nothing but dropbears that drop beers. A good time will be had by all.

Omg, yes, someone make this unique map!

Has anyone tried using Raised Spectre

I've tried. They don't do their drop thing as a minion. They hit fairly hard, but overall, not too impressive as a Spectre.
die because this weak koala?
rest in pepperoni with extra bacon.
Complaining is for the weak.
Selfie Selfish.
Not funny. You're forcing me to turn off my music and put the game sounds back on? Who ever thought this was a good idea?

These things better not come to maps. I don't want to be forced to choose between my oh-so-lovely music and unavoidable deaths.
[s]only mindless sheep think labyrinth is OK to have in PoE.[/s]
okay nevermind labyrinth, fix dx9 blackscreen instead...
I personally wouldn't put them in the Souther Forest.

Mostly on account of them being somewhat similar to the monkeys there, it would rob a lot of their uniqueness in my opinion.

They'd be less their own mob and much more a third type of monkey along with the normal ones and the chieftains.

Warning...noise? I turned off the sound in this game in March 2013. :(

Same, sound off, watching baseball, grinding in docks, and suddenly I die from these mobs out of nowhere.

I usually accept dying with an even temper, but this time, I'm VERY frustrated at this death from a mob with a completely silly mechanic. And they just added this to the game recently? URGGGGGGGGGGGGGH

They're no different to devourers except that they have no ranged attack. People have said devourer 2.0, I say devourer 0.5

You're right, they aren't hopelessly OP. The PoE engine allows for a lot of flexibility in play style, so pretty much anything can be dealt with. Against these Koalas, hitting the weapon switch and Whirling Blade away would work fine.

Getting killed at level 31 by Koalas paratrooping down from the sky into the Docks, World War 2 style, still left a bitter taste in my mouth though.

When I played in the Invasion League, I knew what I signed up so I just moved on when I died to an Invasion boss. I thought the Invasion bosses were a neat addition and fit the theme of Path of Exile. I had fun killing them to see if some treasure would drop, even though it took some time.

I did not sign up for these random Koalas paratroopers that were just added to the game a few days ago.

But OK, they're here to stay. I don't like them so I'll just play around them. Weapon switch + Whirling Blade when I see them and reset the instance.

From patch notes:

"
Added a new monster, designed by a Ruler of Wraeclast supporter, to some Act Two areas.

Patch notes didn't say that the Koalas would appear in Tora missions, or that they would paratroop down from the sky in the Docks.

So instead of just casually reading the patch notes like I always did, guess I'll look for videos of every new monster from now on.
