Soft reset of top tier items: PoE is losing one of its key unique features!

This is such a big problem with many people. Why do you feel 700+ weapons are necesarry. Leagueplayers can usually hope for 400-500 tops in 3 month leagues. And we can clear 78 maps without any issue. End game maps NEVER require mirrored gear. That won't change.

So true, and the funniest thing is if the highest tier mods were reduced instead, these same people would be ecstatic and horde more $$. That's all its really about.
As someone who started playing after 1.3 I gotta say.. a lot of the economy is terrible unless you've been playing since much earlier.

I have no option of crafting the best +crit multi amulet. I can pay a large premium to someone else and then get one. There's simply not a point in trying to craft one and anything that drops can't compare. It isn't even in the same ballpark. The mirroring concept just makes this even worse.

It'd be nice to get some variety and shake things up. New base models would be a great way to handle it. Harbinger bows, Vaal Regalia and the like still all very good.. but there's now a 20 ES better model and the like.

The gameplay should be the focus. I want to be able to have an amazing item drop for me and right now.. there are very few out there that are either A) not dwarfed by a legacy item or B) don't have better legacy modifiers for DPS etc.

Full respect to the people who invested but the idea of having the "best item in the game" forever isn't something I've ever seen sustained in a game and it feels out of place here.
Great opportunity to remove eternal orbs and mirrors from the game.

A very good point. I dislike legacy items as much as new, higher affix tiers. Now I realize they might eventually cancel each other out. Something to look forward to. :)
imo, preserving players efforts has been one of the fundamental principles of poe beside "no pay to play" and "no pay to win".

i'm exited for a lead dev to come forward to explain the reasons behind this intention and change of mind. which i think will happen soon.

on a related note:
i was quite dissapointed to see today's announcement not being about the power creep - change. throwing such a fundamental change into the public and silently watching the affected raging and spreading negativity into the forums isn't a wise move. i'm quite fed up reading troll posts of those haveNots ridiculing the players who did get powerful.

sure, in a static economy with no builtin item obsolescence (except the vaal/divine orbs and dropping an item into the city by accident) there is a point of saturation.

but that's why the default league for new players is one of the respective temporary leagues. permanent leagues are only for preserving your achievements ;)

that doesn't have to mean there shouldn't be any new achievements.
Guys who host mirroring services should have a new aim now. I understand their point but I can't really "get into their shoes" so to speak as I have never invested a lot into an item.
As a temp league player I'm just concerned about the unique item balance
Master Crafting already made several uniqs less attractive and higher mods will do the same...
Nerf Items/Mods and as a result make them Legacy because they're too "powerful" but then introduce newer tier mods to make new crafts stronger? Uwotm8?
