GGG has lost it's way... another realm closes...
" Agree and i wish to see some good changes, i still believe in GGG. " bought all these from zana which i needed to complete my "lower than t7" atlas, from t7 to t9 i bought them off other players for 2 chisels each because playing mostly solo i had zana at just 6. imho atlas moved the incentive for players to purchase maps at all or from other players a serious way down on the tier scale. same applies to map's function as currency sinks. this is probably a negative point for you. for me it's more player interaction through trade and breaking the barrier for some to interact with other players at all. also, ggg probably realised that make it optional for players to run hard maps to sustain them isn't working because atlas more or less forces you to your luck by binding progress on the map's rarity. i can also imagine many players are being afraid of running maps for example with perma curses or monster damage modes on them. the first step to take away the fear was zana mostly having difficult mods on her dailies, atlas is the final step to make players eventually even corrupt their maps to get a step ahead. " it takes hellofalot of time to get the atlas completed self found. the shortcut to buy maps, especially if you do it near end leage is substantial. " imho, garena obviously came to the conclusion that for running a free to play game and mostly relying on free support they need a likable image and decided it's not worth for just that single game. " the way i see it, i'm a crap casual player. in races i permanently finish with half the level the top players have. if you see that from the other end and the task would be to play as long as you're top level (what the main game is about), those top players need double the content than i will ever see. and because the game doesn't have double the content i see, there must be diminishing returns to accomodate for the missing content. you think it's too high? i would say it doesn't matter how high it is because the difficulty makes it having more or less reputation. changing it all the time is a no-go. i think we're basically in the same boat, if i could find the motivation to clean my standard stash i would also mainly play standard league as i'm not a competitive player and not in need of free league reward mtx either. age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill! Hi vio:
1. Yes I've come to the conclusion that I'll need to buy the higher tier maps. (That sucks to be forced to do this in the challenge league.) 2. Garena is a "for profit" business and it's simply a monetary decision. (I view this as an omen that something is rotten in Wraeclast and the PoE ship is taking on water and non-elites and casuals are bailing out before it sinks. After all there are tons of other more rewarding titles to play than PoE. PoE elites and masochists can go down with the ship. I sure hope I'm wrong.) 3. I too am a pretty "crap casual player". I'm not unhappy about that. I am unhappy that GGG is too small to be able to code the endgame for both elites and non-elites. The human resources needed to do that are just not there. It's GGG's catch-22 problem, if GGG provided a better endgame for non-elite like myself I'd buy more mtx to support them and if millions more felt this way then more revenue for GGG would allow them to have a larger dev team to be able to code for both elites and non-elites. With the small dev team they have they can't do that and thus are only able to provide new content for elite players at the expense of pushing many others out of endgame fun. I'm still a PoE loyalist and since I've been playing since CB times (me and my kiwi pet). I'm staying in until at least Act 5 to see if the huge re-balance to remove a difficulty level is good, bad, or just same endgame problems for non-elites as usual before I decide to pull the plug and quit. It's too bad that the endgame map grind mountain climb to level 90 (forget a level 100 build and even level 95 is right out) goes from difficult (as it should be) to a Mt. Everest climb to a "and then we doubled it" climb. If that's what we will find in PoE 3.0 endgame plus even more nerfs and gear starvation then even my PoE loyalty will run out. " If you have credible information to add I welcome your input. If you know things about GGG that I'm clueless on that contradicts my thoughts and supposition on Garena PoE realm closure then please enlighten me. If all you are doing is throwing out troll BS (the way Trump does all the time) to see what will stick to the wall (gain traction) then I'd rather you didn't. " You really don't, I never bought a map in my entire PoE lifetime, if you do need to buy maps that means you aren't aiming for casual player goals anymore. Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

People get tired of playing the same thing over and over for years. Perfectly natural.
PoE doesn't hold my attention for more than a couple weeks at a time... maybe a month... at which point it all feels the same to me. But that is OK. I don;t expect it to do much more than that. My advice? Take a break. Maybe somewhere down the road you will come back, maybe not. Either way, find something you enjoy and play it. |

" But I have all T1 through T3 maps completed and the few T4 I've completed (save 1) are all from buying them. Of course if I grind enough T3 maps eventually I'll get a T4 to drop but that is just more bs RNG drop gating that we all hate. The whole point of Atlas is to be focusing the map drops on the next tier up so we can sequentially progress up to T15 Guardians, not throw more RNG crap gating in our face to make us grind more maps than before Atlas of Worlds to get the next level up map to drop. That doesn't help the time limited players at all (yes, I do believe that GGG has forsaken this segment of their player base). "You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..." If you don;t like how maps are handled... stop playing. When GGG sees enough people post and stop playing, they will revisit their rewards system.
They only benefit if people continue to play and support... and current players can result in new players who buy stash tabs. I did notice how maps drop... and it's kind of pitiful. But then again I don't care to play more than a month before i get bored of it anyway. |

for atlas map handling: at level 90 i do sell all t1 to t3 maps for chisels, t4 to t6 maps get upgraded through the trader's 3 maps for 1 recipe and i keep and run all above t6, highest first.
i had no red maps until yesterday, bought 3 from other players to unlock some higher tier and suddenly i had a small pool of 7 reds which wouldn't go down in numbers.... the "map wall" you describe in atlas is really just the one time unlocking of higher tier maps, then you will swim in maps of the respective higher tier. age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!
