GGG has lost it's way... another realm closes...
Garena has been shifting its focus from gaming to e-commerce and e-payment for a while now. It has literally nothing to do with your gripes about PoE.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence. Последняя редакция: Xavderion#3432. Время: 6 нояб. 2016 г., 10:30:01

" I don't believe 'lag' was what he was referring to. I can't speak for the Asian version of Garena, as I don't know their server locations. However, when GGG merged the Russian realm, several of the Garena servers were removed, leaving only a single location, Moscow. This is fine for those who live in the West of the country but for those in the East, it changes the game from 15ms lockstep to 150ms+ predictive mode. After the Asian merge, players from the region will likely have to choose either Singapore or Australia, which will likely change the game, for a percentage of the Garena player base, for the worse. Other than that, it's probably better all round, as the game was all but dead in the Garena Asia realm. |

Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance.
Ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge. | |
"It is funny how nobody commented with something like "oh ffs drop this steam charts nonsense already, they don't show/mean anything". And worst change is putting almost all bosses in new version of maps into fucking small areas, where you can't kite well or dodge stuff. What a terrible idiot invented that I want say to him: dude flick you, seriously flick you very much.

I remember when Chris said something about softcore items being tainted by death. And that is why its not comparable with hardcore items even if mostly playing self found.
And now we are getting over to the main servers people who could pay for skill resets and taint their whole account? How many rewards were also given out? And oh lets not forget the higher drop rates in events. Feels good to support GGG. |

"That sort of comment is valid when someone does something like use a month's statistics to support a viewpoint. However, if the number of players being tracked by Steam has stayed around 10,000 for the past few YEARS, then I think it is safe to draw a general conclusion of "game not dying". |

Garena existence is probably the reason why some of us boycott/do not want to spend anymore money to GGG.
I am glad that stupid company is gone. Now is to wait GGG to unblock steam region lock for those area. |

" That is very true. My Essence League Poison Fire Trapper is up to level 76 and I'm needing T4 and T5 maps to continue on in the Atlas and only getting T1 - T3 map drops. I personally am finding that map tier progression is not working for me as I have lots of T1 -T3 maps and have them checked off (killed boss) but since T4 and up maps are gated behind some kind of weird RNG drop formula I'm not able to proceed right now. I did buy a few T4 maps but then didn't get any T4 or T5 map drops from them. So what now? GGG is expecting me to buy them? Sigh!!! So with the always screwed up map drop RNG formulas GGG employs my ability to advance even to red maps is blocked (hell, I'm not even into yellow maps yet!). I never had any allusion of ever reaching The Guardians or The Shaper. I have never crafted a build that can easily cruise the red maps and probably never will. The BotW builds where a player has all kinds of min/maxing plus has leveraged a bunch of other PoE math mechanics with a special unique gear (which I'll never be able to afford and know will never drop) is always interesting to watch and hear Bex rattle on about how this gear stat + that gear stat + this skill + these specific supports and etc., etc., = a top build to run through red maps and face roll everything. I do look at the build and try to learn something that could help improve my builds but in 4 years I have not been very successful. So I have learned to settle for less and find a way to be ok with that otherwise my only other option is to quit for good. That's the danger I think I'm seeing with the 2 realm closures this year. GGG needs to take PoE ever higher in difficulty content to satisfy the top elite players and their BotW top builds. With players like the ones I listen to on the Lioneye's podcast reciting from memory all kinds of gear that PoE has that I've never ever heard of before as the best way to do this type of build with that skill it's no wonder the non-elites haven't got a chance. If I was a new player today I'd most certainly not be playing for very long. If Garena can't generate enough revenue from their PoE realms it could be the tip of the iceberg in terms of the average non-elite player burnout and drop out rate. GGG should not be only coding PoE to attempt to keep 1 step ahead of the top elite players (not even sure if they can) by using the other now infamous Wilson's failed strategy: "... and then we doubled it." Just doubling down on content difficulty and increasing the time grind to level 100 is causing higher player drop out rates and will kill PoE if GGG continues coding PoE this way. And to think 4 years ago all I wanted was an enjoyable arpg where I could kill things and find great loot. How naive was I back then? Don't misunderstand I see PoE as a great arpg (minus the damn laggy game engine and trading) and love many aspects of it otherwise I'd just be another of the millions who tried playing and then moved on. PoE really could succeed D2 if only GGG had the vision and capabilities to code the endgame for both elite and non-elite players alike (alas they are too small a company to do both). Oh well, theory crafting a better PoE for both player camps is a pipe dream and must be shelved. :( "You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..." Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration. " I'd be the first one to do it, but comparing Steam charts to Steam charts is actually valid. GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

" I can assure you it's possible to do that in T3 maps just as well in T15 maps, if you're a casual player you should have casual goals and it all works out. Sure, the chance to drop great stuff isn't high but it does drop ad if you don't aim for high maps you don't even need it to have fun. If you don't have a lot of time to play and don't like trading, stick to standard, never build with gear you don't already have, don't pay much attention to what the other players are doing and you'll be fine. Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.
