cast on crit - i think that this is important for many of us

A 1s cooldown on Discharge would pretty much solve the issue and wouldn't affect selfcasting it in the slightest. That would be my course of action if I wanted to have CoC strong but not broken.

It might also mean that Myolner can go back to 50%.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

no it's not, see flubby low life reaver, his DPS with AOE gem is insane,

EK with life leech + BM gems get to 150K tooltip with chain,

so, so not true

I made this season max crit self cast discharge and 1 sec cd would definitely hurt me

I also made non-discharge mjolner. lightning strike chain, for example, can give ridiculous amount of hits at distance, giving much more casts per second than you can do with CoC. I wanted to play double storm call with penetration, to use storm call delay to proc many more times than with spells that hit instantly, but it destroys my mediocre gpu

it will be ok only for dischargers, all the rest CoC build will be gone, how is it ok??

beside, none of the alpha players tested other CoC, so if they nefr it with no checking,

well, they will break the skill the other way,

like ST, that goot way too nerfed at the time, and now can get on GMP to higher DPS with no low life then the onld CoE low life builds,

the DPS now is alot higher, and it's needed, my VMS do in nova mode 500K DPS,

it's cool DPS as chaos, and normal CoC can do that in packs (large packs), and maybe abit more,

but I have 6.6K life and max block/spell block, and they have less then 5K life with acrobattics in the good case,

it's a good glass cannon, if discharge is the problem, make it a salf cast skill only,

or make a cooldown like suggested.

Again the problem with CoC is not Discharge, it's the ability to spam spells for free at insane speed.

This mechanism limit the creation of strong and slow non-channeling spell as it would be too easy to bypass the drawback using CoC. That's why it has to go away.

There aren't really any fundamental problems with the concept, you got a caster that uses weapon base speed instead of spell base and scales it by attack speed instead of cast speed. It isn't impossible to balance as most spells don't differ in cast speed significantly so it's just a matter of trigger percentage and damage penalty to account for the higher base speed and easier scaling.

Unfortunately, Discharge throws it all out of the loop because the spell wasn't designed to be spammable at all, especially not at that frequency.

The core idea is cool, I agree. However, most ways of boosting the number of hits on an attack incur some damage penalty, but that's irrelevant when you only use your attacks to proc CoC. Perhaps another way to balance things out would be to have the final damage modifier of the attack also apply to the spells. Wanna use Spectral Throw and GMP to trigger CoC? Great, your spells now do less than 60% damage.
