100% buff to map drop rate
" Well it's a 1% bonus that accumulates, so it's still good for everyone. Am I the only one who already runs 1 of every map each league just for the fun of it? o.O |

Im not saying this change is good or bad.
Im just saying its a pretty darn major change , even when considering it's a total overhual of the whole system. Also thare IS a very good chance , as a poster pointed out , that we are missing alot of information. Other changes could effect the way we get maps as well . The thing that makes me qurious about it is that it's a pretty major change to alot of players and some in diffrent ways than others. Some will have the maps they always wanted but could never get , large buff to them . Some will have thare early leuage map flip curency gain system probley broken , large nurf . Others may find themselfs with alot more curency this ladder , or perhaps thares new ways to sink curency into the atlas and this will not be the case . We are probley still missing alot of information is the point . Now i dont have the whole picture yet , but if i read into what i have seen and look between the lines a bit what i see is ... Basicaly i think this change is to atempt to open up all map areas to all levels of farming. This would free players from gorge runs since they can alter the atlas and run diffrent maps with simmilar rewards . Also drasticly altering map levels , by moving them around the atlas , would let you run whatever maps you may have at the highest level on the atlas you have unlocked . Sounds all good to me but im just thinking the other part of this may be that they want to make Rares BiS again so perhaps they are removing a large curency sink from maps so we can go craft crazy with this new ladders system ? That's why i originaly questioned the economy thing. Like that's a major change to the game , MAJOR . Think how much curency is spent in a 1 mounth race on maps both in crafting them and trading them . I bet the top 100 guys in a 1 mounth race spend 90 % of thare curency obtained on maps. My guess?
Red tier map drops rate get's reduced by like 75% Yellow tier by roughly 40% White tier stay where they are. Effectively pushing the player to complete the atlas at "medium" speed to keep a similar drop rate as we currently experience. However, once it get's completed a small increased is achieved compared to old value's. Everybody seems to think this change will happen in a vacuum without corresponding game mechanics being altered? This could happen, but i don't consider it likely. And if they do, i expect a 2 week in league patch to stealth nerf the yellow and red tiers like i just described.(if they want the game to remain competitive) Peace, -Boem- Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes

I get your point Boem but the math is teeeerrible :P
Red maps reduced by 75%, with +100% IIQ, means about half the current rate: 100 * 0.25 * 2 = 50. (plus or minus a bit due to maps having Qty bonuses) I too expect there to be some amount of drop reduction, where one will need to fill out a certain amount of Atlas to reach the current drop rate. Not expecting it to be quite as severe though... maybe 30-40% as an actual bonus at 100% completion, would be my guess. Still hoping for a skewing away from white towards yellow. " /blush :D Apologies for atrocious math. But you got the point, so i am glad. Some moving parts will change with this implementation i think, a straight up 100% drop rate increase will be "unlikely". Peace, -Boem- Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes

I agree with you 2 that thare will be other changes to how they drop witch could mean this is not a stright up jay willson style buff to drop rates .
But i disagree with you guys thinking they are lowering the drop rate then making us get this extra buff from the atlas to get back what we losse to force us to do explore the atlas . I think they want more maps of the level we are runing +1 to drop . The whole idea hear is to give us more endgame content , they can't do that if people can't find the fucking things. Also i mean come on how fast do we do maps once we start in , i bet some of us will have the atlas completed in a day or 2 , and most hardcore players ( lack of a better term ) will have it inside a week . Normal players will have it in 3-4 week's . Just a sec let me grab a beer...@#*@ Ok how did I die this time

^White maps don't need a reduction in drop rates.
They drop plentiful and when starting them your atlass will be at 0% increased rate. Yellow maps will need a reduction because you will have done the white tiers by then. Red tiers need a reduction since you will have done white + yellow tiers when reaching them. The point would be to make maps drop more in an "end-game character" time-line, where it is required.(highly subjective btw) A 100% completion rate would mean a "good" increase in yellow tier drop rates and a "minor" increase in red tiers is what i am hinting at. Ok i hear yha Boem.
What if they made it so you can't drop a map +2 under the level you are running , that would be sweet. Edit: Yha and we highly subjective hear and hypothesis but that's all good we can dream of stuff and place bets till the patch comes out Hhahahaha Just a sec let me grab a beer...@#*@ Ok how did I die this time Learn the rules, it's the only way to exploit them. Speculation mode engaged !!!!!
Ok so what if the original level of the map is totaly erelavent in this map system . If we can socket the map into the atlas in a "high level socket" and play any tile set at any level . We just run the map once to unlock the node at the level to unlock the location and that map level on this map tree thing . This way all maps would be ether wight , yellow , red . Would be totaly dependent on how much of the tree you have unlocked for map level . Just a sec let me grab a beer...@#*@ Ok how did I die this time
