100% buff to map drop rate

The thing that i wonder about is that it dose not take long to run through all the maps if you have the gear for it . Or even if you are pushing hard at the start of a ladder .

So if this is basicaly something we get in the first week of playing, then we going to be map rich like crazy.

Maps are a HUGE curency sink for players who push into high maps and stay thare to farm the super good gear.

If we have a sink removed , and eayser accses to more higher end loot , could be a bomb shell for the ecosystem of PoE .

Can I ask a general question? I keep reading this will negatively effect the economy? Exactly how? Many posters already say that the economy in standard is already screwed up beyond fixing. And if the atlas resets every league just how fast can one get all 100 maps each time (to get the map drop bonus) without help from other players?

The fact of the matter is that very necessary to a healthy market and a healthy economy. I'm in the game long enough to know about what they say. It turns out that all at once began to 6L the gear attached to and unique items. And where the difference between players. Anyone no surprise. MF were dead.

To think people don't need to kill uber. What fun would that be? When everything is easy. When all players under 150k dps and above.Without any mirror things.

Oh no... players can have nice builds and deal good damage without flipping for a year and having mirror items... Imagine the horror!

You have to be realistic about these things.

This is only for ppl selling maps, as for ppl that sold quality gems or lvled gems before the uber lab basicly made it rain Q/lvld gems.

Imo this will be a very nice change, if it will be as thought @OP.

Considering the fact that a good chunk of the new content is based around being able to complete T16 maps, it does make sense that they'd increase drop rates a bit, otherwise a lot of people wouldn't be able to experience it (this is assuming they have a strong enough build to actually beat the content).

It's not that hard to have a strong enough build to beat T15/16 maps, without mods that is...Sure clear speed might be a little shitty :D

why is it bad that everything gets cheaper?

perandus turned 30ex builds into 5ex builds the average joe was able to play with the nolifer toys it was the most successful league

if you face it there is nothing left i bought my void battery for 35ex in beyond those days are long gone there is skyforth and thats it for a long time

shavs, koams and other t1s should be way more common

1% is not much when you take into account the map drop rate right now. And it depends upon how they calculate that.

Let's do the numbers and theories...

2.3: 79 base maps
2.3: 14 unique maps
2.4: 30 new maps (almost 50% more end-game maps)

So that's 123 (oops, edit) maps total.

Worst (or in our case best) scenario is that Chris was talking about all 123 map types. That's 123% increased map drop rate. That's pretty darn big. They'd be dropping several times every map we run. But if that's overall drop rate, it just means a lot of low tier maps too.

Best (or in our case worst) scenario is that Chris was talking about only the 30 new maps as you progress on the Atlas. So that's 30% increase map drop rate, most likely just for those 30 maps. That's nice, but nothing special.

Keep in mind that you start at the flat rate, and only at end-end-game of Atlas do you get the 30% (or 193% if all maps). You still start at 0.

And then there's "cumulative 1% bonus". That usually means to sum the values, hence 30 repetitions of 1% would be 30% increase. Yet this could be a misnomer, and hence 1% increase could be applied to the starting value, and thus you'd get 1%, 1.01%, 1.0201%, etc. I assume that the latter is wrong, and hence the former with "cumulative" meaning adding 1% is more accurate.

And as someone else pointed out, this could be tier related, since the previous paragraph talks about a tier of maps. Then that would be what, something like 3 to 8% max?

So only Chris can confirm this right now. Remember that things said in interviews don't always equate to what actually happens later in the world of game development and publishing. For example, at one point back in the funding days Chris said the MTX store would only be cosmetic/aesthetic items, but now we have convenience items (tabs) as well.

79+14+30 = 123 :p
I expect it's just 1% IIQ per Map, probably additive with the Map mods.

Somewhat related: I'm hoping low-tier map drops are ever so slightly reduced, skewing odds towards mid-tier maps.

Oops, basic math fail for me, lol. Not sure what I was thinking there.
