It's time to remove the Town Portal scroll
TP scrolls are outdated items and have been for a long time. It serves no value as a currency item since players have effectively infinite amounts at their disposal later in the game, while just being a hassle for having to open up the inventory to use it.
Having to open the inventory every time is a bigger issue than it sounds. It can completely kill the rhythm of a hack n' slash when I could have just pressed a recall hotkey, popped back to base, and then jump right back in. At some point in the game's development, it may have been a good limiting factor for players so they don't pick up every single item, go back and sell it to the shop. Nowadays, all the endgame content(such as maps) have limited portals which already makes players consider which items to pick up and which items to leave behind. It's time to get rid of the TP scroll. Give us a hotkey that allows us to open a portal with a push of a button. www.twitch.tv/Sushin for various games, generally laid back Last bumped5 апр. 2018 г., 15:00:00

It would be nice if we could link TP scrolls to quickbar. If i remember well it was possible in D2.

Neither of the scrolls should exist. They're just busywork.

" Pretty much this. They're a relic from ARPGs of old. While its nice to reminisce about the classics that helped set the foundation of the genre and even draw inspiration from, there are some features best left in the past. PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds. Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build! MFers found strength in their Afflictions. They became reliant on them. I am not so foolish. Последняя редакция: Pizzarugi#6258. Время: 3 апр. 2018 г., 04:00:38

I seriously don't see the the problems with TPs!
But then Im not kind of person that is in that kind of rush.. Yes it takes about 1-2s to open inventory and right click... yes? how can this be a problem? Seriously, how can this in any way ruin you experience? Anyway, if you are that kind of rush, get a portal gem and drop it in you quickbar. |

" Scroll of Wisdom does actually have some function. It's a good compromise between having to go to town to ID everything and being allowed to ID every single item that drops. Both of these systems do not fit well in PoE's system. There might be a better system out there, but I can't really think of any off the top of my head that can work in PoE. " As you said, that's because you're not that kind of person. Even then, it still doesn't give any reason for why TP scrolls should exist, merely that you don't find it to be a problem. Portal gem can work, but it takes up a gem slot which can be very precious in some builds and it still doesn't give any reason for why TP scrolls should exist. www.twitch.tv/Sushin for various games, generally laid back Последняя редакция: North2#2026. I agree. It could be done like in Grim Dawn, just some button (like nets in Bestiary) to open portal.
The questions in this case would be: 1. What to do with Portal skill? It's sometimes usefull to carry one with Cast on Death. Personaly I don't use it, i cast manually. 2. Cast speed of portal, is casting can be interrupted? If cast speed would be like in Portal skill with no quality then it'd be not very handy cause it's too slow and can be easily interrupted. The original speed of portal scroll opening is fine though. About scrolls of wisdom - I think they are essential part of the game, esecialy on the 1st char in the league, you always lack some scroll to identify all items, it adds some charm. Also identifying items that you want and where you want. But I wouldn't be against enlarging maximum stack capacity to 200 or 500 for example for scrolls. |

" And this is EXACTLY why it should stay! You should not have an instant 'refill my flasks' button... |

I don't like portal scroll. When something become tedious mandatory of daily routine it should be simplified to make system less annoying.
However I don't want portal scroll to be removed entirely from the game. Make it rarer and add niche meaning. Maybe portal scroll should transport you to a room where you can stash your items without losing one map portal without refilling your flasks? That would be nice addition for players who like to gather stuff from maps while not making it mandatory to use for others. |

" Where is this an issue? If you are in story mode, it does not matter how many times you return to town to refill your flasks. Your only limitation is amount of scrolls you have in your inventory. This is not an issue in maps either as you have finite amount of map entries by default. So the argument is moot. We have instant refill of flasks already. Discussion should be around mechanics of portal and how to invoke it. I would not mind having a button that could call portal out and remove portal scrolls. GGG would have to tweak Scroll of Wisdom drop rates as I very often trade portal scrolls for wisdom ones early in the league. |
