R.I.P. bestiary

Rip!

Peace,

ggg's pr is of course resorting to technical reasons, they won't make the mistake twice to admit that they trust reddit, a anonymous trollfest where some very influential players can start shitstorms cause the majority has no own opinion other than joining the groupthink of "we did it, reddit" to feel important once in their little life.

when i now read that bestiary had it's good sides i could ... man i'm mad.

the technical aspect is an excuse cause technical requirements are some of the few things you can tell in advance when you plan features.

When Charan mentions "read qarls post, he lays it all out" i imagined the following.

"How would qarls post read if bestiary was a success league?"

And i don't say that lightly, in my estimation they released bestiary roughly three weeks too early, considering they missed obvious stuff like "hmm slayer 20% cull" and made the capture experience terrible from the get-go(two weeks later solved by adding a "damage window" after netting)

They bassicaly failed their launch, got massive backlash because of it and enabled the reddit hive-mind to go "let"s all agree to hate this league irrelevant of future patches"

It's telling that people where still complaining about the net-capture mechanic a month and a half into the league in relation to summoners and totems when in fact they added a "damage window" to nets.(obviously revealing that they didn't play the league at all since the patches or are just hating for hatings sake)

So yeah i don't buy this mechanical and new-player-experience post.

It's a good excuse when excuses are needed cause there is relevance and merit in it, so props for the angle to the PR department, though blatantly obvious it suffices to deliver.

Peace,

Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes
I see a lot of people here bashing Bestiary when they were praising Harbinger which was by far the worst league as far as mechanics and technical issues go. Not that I expected different since these same people have also shown they do nothing but hero-worship streamers which is a giant neon sign denoting idiocy.
Currently being stalked around these forums by some clowns who caught feelings over being called out at being grossly inept at their job.
Oh boy.. does this mean I should definitely try to finish at least one of the unique beast sets before it's over? I don't want to miss out.

yep.

a good idea wasted because of a self imposed timeline they thought to have to meet to avoid shitstorms.

i have a hard time defining what's cause and what is effect.

----

only thing i can surely say is, the pressure to succeed at ggg will not have decreased. lootsplosions with no real demand for the items incoming...

I think this nails the Manifesto in a nutshell. The league was polarizing and admitting to succumbing to the angry 3 challenges completed horde would not bode well from multiple perspectives. It would alienate those of us who truly enjoyed and invested time into Bestiary to learn it and it would send the message that group think induced hate mongering produces preferable results making it a worthwhile episode every league for whatever group happens to be angry.

It's understandable why they were less than honest (in my opinion), but it also is a bit of insult to pretend those were the reasons to do it. I would rather they were just straightforward on the matter; I can respect a bad decision that is made openly. It's hard to respect a bad decision veiled in BS.
Thanks for all the fish!

Good decision on their part. Way too divisive. Too much love/hate can fragment a game quicker than adding multiple modes of play would. I'd like to see some of the beast crafting recipes made into prophecies or crafting options on the masters though.

Too much love/hate is waaaaaaay better than too much dontcare. If players don't hate the new content means that you didn't actually add anything new and worth hating to the game.
Good decision. What happens with unique related to bestiary? Will they drop in standard?

No, they are attached to Bestiary mechanics that were not introduced. They specifically said "we have decided not to retain any element of the league in the core game for now." which leaves very little room for interpretation.
Thanks for all the fish!
