Softcore VS Hardcore

I'd love that Filousov, If i can get in I may try their damage mod race with the same criteria, have to think of a broken build though hmmm......

Playing hardcore, or not dying in general in this game, isn't about being a good player as much as it is about picking your content. If you keep running the hardest content and the most brutal mods available you WILL die, no matter how good your build is and no matter how good of a player you are. There is just no way you'll survive the hardest possible for extended periods of time, or as a wise man once said: "In the long run we are all dead".

Therefore, no, hardcore players aren't better than softcore players in general even though most of them have that superiority complex. All they do is run risk free content and avoid everything that could kill them. Surely that requires a certain extent of game knowledge but nothing out of the ordinary. Any SC player who managed to go into even the mid 90s knows those things just as well.

How many supporter packs do you want to bet on this?

Every pack that was ever made as it's a bet i literally can't lose. The more dangerous the content is that you are playing and the longer you play it the more likely it becomes that something will fuck you up.

From what i've seen on reddit steelmage is in the lead of the china race atm with about 5 days of playtime and that's impressive as hell no doubt. But ask yourself this. What would happen if he attempted tier 16+ delirium maps or >500 depth delves? What would happen if it wasn't a race lasting a week but a Marathon lasting a year? He almost died once already against Shaper. Sure the China race is much harder than normal hardcore play but it's also played by some of the best players in the world so it's not exactly your average HC guy running around there, at least not at the upper end of the leader board. If he just keeps going he will rip eventually, it's just a matter of time.

Honestly if I'm going to be real about it, most sc streamers probably could do most content on hc. The thing is these guys are actually good at the game, I don't think something like hc would inhibit anything in particular.

You'd think people like mathil would shit the bed but he surprisingly has a lv99 assassin in ssf hc. The guy was speed chaining juiced t15/16 beyond maps just like he was in sc. I remember he won a race prize with that character and he wasn't even no-lifing like everyone else, he was just doing his usual 6 hour a day stream session.

Dude... that guy was facetanking a8 sirus's death beam with steroids map mods. And that was without divine flesh. Alkiezer let his girlfriend play his character against a8 sirus on normal hc realms and she managed to kill the boss even after facetanking the beams and even the maze smash, so it's not just about the player, the build itself can go a long way. You're saying they're eventually going to die but meanwhile these guys are trolling one of the hardest bosses in the game..
Steelmage literally designed his build to make AL8 Awakener a cake walk and with the gear level of Alkaizers build ofc Sirus is a cakewalk, even for his girlfriend. I mean she got hit by pretty much everything in the encounter and survived because the builds powerlevel is over the top.

Sirus may or may not be one of the hardest bosses in the game but it's actually fairly easy to trivialize him with the right build.

Yea but these same builds also work elsewhere it's not like they suddenly stop working when you go mapping or anything.

In general, I don't think I've ever seen alkiezer die outside of a dc. Like.. ever. That guy's hp bar is always full, I almost might suspect he's overlaying a fake full hp bar over his real one because it never moves.

And then you got other players like dirtydan who also doesn't die except for dcs. THAT guy is known for going 1500+ delves in hc.
From my global experience in hc. There's a fraction of realy great players and the rest are sobs that keep running the acts.

I don't understand why you get baited by players redeeming themselves better than you. Just compete against yourself and keep improving. There's never a point in this game where you can say, that you master every single aspect of the game.

That being said. Actually paying attention to mods on maps versus running like a brainless chicken shows experience and the ability to pick your battles with cunning.

I consider myself as one of the top 0.01% player, but I always try to become better and gain more knowledge.

Maybe we should challenge streamers to play HC - no log out macro and no ALT + F4. If you bail, bail through portal. :-)
they should put a timer on logging out to make em streams fun to watch
"Now all that's left is for you getting on your knees."
if you know thank me:) i'm dying to find out x'D
They're different play styles... almost different games entirely. It's like comparing baseball to softball. No one does it.
It's usually the softcore crowd that tends to view themselves as better than Hardcore players because of the logout macro aspect, from what I've always observed.
Assuming that hardcore players use a logout macro is the same as calling softcore players botters.
It takes skill not to die and clear all content so yes, hardcore players are better at this game.

If there was no difference then everyone would be playing hardcore.
