POE 2 Complete PC Freeze while loading screen

After 0.2 I tested out the game after having hard freezes in both PoE 1 and 2.
The freezes usally showed up within 3-4 hours of playtime, top.

Now the "good" news.
So far, no freeze crash.

Some people have reported the issue remains, but not for me.
Changes I did on my end, that I have yet to "turn back", that might have had an impact:
1. I run the game in window mode. Not borderless, but full window. (thought this might give me a clue what causes the freeze, hence why I changed it.)
2. I turned off the option ingame that enables cpu multithreading. (turned this off since changing how many cores the game uses had some small impact on run-time before crash... or so I imaganed anyway.)

So far I am in act 3 on my main, and have made several other characters and taken them to act2, and as I stated, so far no crash. If this changes I will update this post. But I don't think it will change as so far I have not have even one hard freeze.

Will this have changed for you? No clue, but I want to let people in this thread know that at least there is some progess on whatever the "total freeze in loading screen"-bug was.

EDIT:
I tried to reenable Engine/cpu Multireding, an within 30min I had a crash. This time the computer didn't die completly, but I didn't crash since launch with it off, and as said, after 30 mins, a crash, I have since disabled it again, and played for roughly a day or so, and not once have I crashed since.
So there is defently something going on in the "Engine multitreding".
So that option is what caused the issue for me.

For those wondering:

AMD Ryzen 7 78003D 8-Core
Direct X12
Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060

Same over here - since yesterday I got instant BSOD's.
Tried all regarding config and reinstalled Windows already. No chance.

Hope this will be fixed tomorrow in the patch...
It's been months and i completely stopped playing because of this bug... I really hope GGG can fix this soon so that i can jump back on. It's just not worth it to brick my pc with constant freezes and hard resets because of that.
Same issue here:

• CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D (BOX)
• Motherboard: MSI MAG X870E TOMAHAWK WIFI
• RAM: G.SKILL TRIDENT Z5 RGB DDR5 2x32GB 6400MHz CL32
• Storage: Kingston KC3000 2TB M.2 2280 PCIe x4 Gen4 NVMe
• GPU: MSI RTX 4090 SUPRIM X 24GB
• Case: Be Quiet! Shadow Base 800 FX Black
• CPU Cooling: Be Quiet! Pure Loop 2 FX 280 (2x140mm)
• Power Supply: Asus ROG Platinum 1200W

My workaround was to disable the 3D V-Cache (Game Mode) in the BIOS. This means my CPU no longer uses the X3D feature, but at least the game no longer freezes the entire PC. I still experience occasional in-game freezes, but after 3–5 seconds, the game recovers and continues running. Sigh…
i read all post since begining and no real solution (else we all know how to play safe :D )
bad optimisation is since poe1 few month before poe2 EA launch

so just put bad review on steam and wait, since last interview its the only real impact that GGG teams take care

but the siad the truth too, that debugin their instance crash is easier than player crash

but question :p
how about all DXDIAG we send? GGG you could buy 1 or 2 hadware config and play ur game to debug it

ibeetween end december - juanary before some patchs playing with poeuncrasher was ok
but they said microsoft and nvidia prob but linux player and AMD card crashing too so ...

I tried 1 time after this season release and i still crashed with a pc lock.
This weekend i tried it another time because i read that some of the people in this thread didnt have the issue anymore.

And now i was able to play without a crash. (10 hours played)
No stutters anymore also, not even when using a portal.

Nothing changed on my side, nvidia driver is still on the 18th march driver and im still on the win 11 24h2 update.
No apps to park core, no changes to my ingame settings.(directx).

So no idea why it suddenly works, but it does.

(Ryzen 7700x - 4070 - 32g ram - win 11 - 1440p highest settings with dlss graphics mode - no frame gen.) Steady 144fps while levelling.

freeze happen again,

AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D 8-Core Processor 4.20 GHz
64.0 GB
Windows 11 pro
version 24H2

X670E GAMING PLUS WIFI

nvdia geforce rtx4080super
came back after 4 months, i played for 2 days no crash so far and game runs better than before, in some areas there are drop fps and input lag but it doesnt freeze my pc anymore.

CPU: Ryzen 7 5700x
GPU: RTX 3060 12GB Driver version: 572.16
RAM: 32GB
OS: Windows 11 24H2
Today I had problems with the game: The screen went black and I had to restart. I tried disabling the overlay and switching to Vulkan, but to no avail. The gameplay itself is fun; however, the programmers seem incapable of delivering a stable product. What good is a great game if it keeps crashing? A waste of time! Maybe I should delete everything and forget about this company.

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X
32,0 GB
Windows 11 Pro-
Version 24H2

X670E GAMING PLUS WIFI

nvdia geforce rtx4080super
this is not fixed regardless of what the dev posted on this thread. this is the ONLY game that taxes my cpu like this. Going to town, loading zones and certain monsters just send the cpu to 100%. It is rediculous. its been months!! I have a feeling it has something to do with shaders from what I have read. I already sent my dxdiag in December so dont ask again....
