Why dedicate my time if I can lose all my XP with a death penalty?
" 20 hours played, it took me 3 days. LOL for your attempt of blaming on my no-life, I guess? I'm very casual and have a full time job. Git gud. Последняя редакция: frazency#2974. Время: 13 янв. 2025 г., 06:14:05

Penalties for dying has always been a part of path of exile. if you cant live with it, go find another game. GGG losing money but I can see most of the crybabies that ask for this doesnt even have a forum supporter badge. you didnt spend shit except for buying the EA. People will always find something to complain just like any other game. ohh elden ring too hard, honor system sucks i dont know to play it but we can 500+ temporalis in market lol.

" I mean, you don't have to have a supporter badge to have an opinion. I'm pretty sure they all paid for an EA experience. That may also be the reason why they didn't have the badge because why would you spend more money on a game that punishes you for leveling. I also think it's unfair to blame the 500+ temporalis on the casual players. At least try to give more fair examples. |
|
" What kind of twisted logic is this? No, it isn't. It's punishing you for attempting content that you are not ready for if you're constantly dying. The epitome of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results. If you are constantly dying at a certain stage maybe rethink your approach. |

TBH after watching the interview recently I kinda changed my mind about this a little bit. Once they fix the glaring issues that cause bullshit deaths and they release the first balance patch, the 10% xp loss and 1 portal per map would be much less of a pain point.
Jonathan said it would serve as a soft gear/skill check where if you are constantly dying in a map tier, its time to review. Последняя редакция: Carinyc#0837. Время: 13 янв. 2025 г., 07:56:46

I'm more optimistic about the game given the dev announcements yesterday. Better visual clarity and mob tuning will certainly help.
However, I'm still of the opinion that the triple whammy of exp loss, stone loss and tower buff loss is too much in unison. I think any two of these would be better, just not all three, which seems like real overkill. |

After Dev announcements yesterday it should be clear:
XP penalty isn't going anywhere. | |

I was 75% 2 hours ago. I said, right, I'll go to bed once I hit the next level. I got up to 95% and then died twice. Back to the drawing board. Its now 2AM.

" yeah that is true that you dont know supporter bade to have an opinion but see, most of this people who are complaining, once they get what they want, they find another thing to cry about. just like in the stream someone is crying about honor and would like to have it remove like lol its been there since poe1. nothing wrong with it. just need to get good. the same thing with "dying" lots. you need to get good. maybe farm a lower waystone for now and upgrade gears. why do so many people can spam tier 15-16 and even have + 12 difficulty in tree even? because they got good. the temporalis item is an example. yeah sure you can be casual but if you want those gears, you need to get good. so why are there so many people crying about honor when there are also so many people who can do sekhemas and even get temporalis? thats the point. you just need to get good. and yes I agree with all this changes in the upcoming patch, there will be less deaths but you still need to get good either way. if you cant get good, there are other easier games for your level. |

I wish people would provide their current level when they say the XP penalty is costing them hours, the time lost before level 90 is almost negligible and that XP can be recovered in 1-2 maps. If you're losing hours at level 75 you have a lot of problems to fix.
