Why dedicate my time if I can lose all my XP with a death penalty?

" Those binds :0 Is that a left handed mouse setup ? |

"It makes perfect sense. NOONE should ever reach lvl 100 by dying all the time. If u cant get to lvl 100 without xp loss being removed i can tell u why... Either you or ur builds sucks, its really that simple. |
|
" Totally. |
|
"Exactly. It would be going from "This game is great" to " D4 bad". Some builds are made for farming and never meant to go 100, but some people (myself included) love the fact that it takes time and u have to work to maximize ur build and solve the puzzle of defence vs offence to actually get there at all. D4 lasted like almost 3 weeks before i pressed uninstall and havent played since cause the game is too ez and boring. In Poe 1 on the other hand i have more than 15k hours spend since release Последняя редакция: MrPedez#4934. Время: 5 янв. 2025 г., 13:34:06

" If your build cannot reach 100 then you cannot farm because you die the content you would farm with your brain turned off. Your argument is intellectually dishonest since a xp penalty has no real impact on your experienced gameplay where you would use a made up reality in your head going against human behavior (people just corpse run to max). Also, you should not be forced to play under these conditions and what could be described as "standard" or optimal rewards under penalties should still exist in which case your experience won't really change. |
|
" So for each of your characters that didn't make it to level 100, you or your build were bad ? |
|
"Even a farming build should be able to run at least 10 maps in a row without dying and honestly im not having any trouble doing that and nor does it really mean much unless u are lvl 95+ which is more than enough for that char. But yes it would very much have an impact on my gameplay experience and take away much of the spiritual journey to lvl 100 and it would become nothing but a participation trophy Последняя редакция: MrPedez#4934. "Like i said earlier, not every build is made with lvl 100 in mind, most chars are just currency farmers and lvl 100 is not needed at all. lvl 90+ is more than enough for this. Sometimes i do however make a char meant to go 100 just for the challenge and it should be a challenge and not just a guaranteed outcome from playing that char for a week or two AkA participation trophy that anyone can get. |

Here is the approximate formula for reaching level 100 in PoE1 and assuming it's the same for PoE2.
In PoE1 it takes on average 500 hours of gameplay to reach max level without dying. A league last on average 90 days. Thats roughly 4 1/2 hrs of gameplay a day for 90 days In PoE2 - if they use the same experience formula & you include these factors; you have a bad design, imo. Dying involves ; - lost waystone/map - lost content/juice - lost currency/items unlooted - lost exp - lost time investment of all the above Dying gains ; - potential knowledge of why you failed - potential to improve character If you don't have a level 100, please don't comment. If you dont care about reaching level 100, don't comment. If you do have a level 100 from the leagues, please explain how you would manage this in a league & describe your time situation, as I don't think the average person even has a chance at reaching those play time #'s. I would love the perspective of someone who reaches level 100 every league while sharing the situation in their lives that allow for such playtime. I assume they have a lot more 'free' time than most, or maybe they're streaming the game as they play for income, maybe they live with their parents, maybe they're working from home but actually gaming, I honestly don't know. Would love some perspective. |
