The game does start in maps. No one plays hundreds and thousands of hours to replay the campaign. Has nothing to do with "zooming" either. I like souls style combat but it needs to be fun and not a slog.
PoE 1 does, PoE 2 doesn't. No matter how many times you write this down it won't make it true. PoE 2 is a different game and the campaign is part of the game. Either accept it or move on.

PoE is a game with a heavy focus on the endgame (maps) and uses the campaign as an introduction to its systems and not as the main part. That's it.
Furthermore, most stuff isn't even present in the campaign, so making it a slog where ppl have to spend many hours to progress is not in line with the design of the game, period.

"They" supported and funded POE1 so that POE2 would be possible and your take is to basically tell them to get lost? Brilliant marketing strat.
This is a really distorted view. POE1 was free to play. I paid for it because it was fun.. we are not bankers investing in the future. we are consumers buying a game. GGG doesn't "owe" me or you or anyone anything. If you dont like their products, stop buying them.. if you do.. then enjoy..
You can only make that statement if poe is a side game for you. If you're fully invested into this game it feels really bad to see it feel terrible from your point of view. Give us poe1 back. Then poe2 will be the side chick. This should be the opposite.
I don't see poe2 being a main game for any poe1 player.
POE1 players are a tiny playerbase! THe goal of POE2 is not to convert the tiny POE1 playerbase, but to get a chunk of the wider ARPG audience.
D4 makes $700M/yr, DImmortal makes $700M/yr.
POE1 makes $80M/yr.
By most estimates, POE2 already made over $200M in pre-release sales for EA!!
I estimate that during the 1-year EA, POE2 is going to make them at least $300M, which is about 3.5x as much as POE1 made in that time.
POE2 is not stealing anything from POE1, it's funding everything now.

No one wants abhorrent vision.
0.2 has only 190k players and it's only because there is Lightning Spear. It had 500k on 0.1. Most players didn't even return, because they rightfully hate vision.
You are free to play Ruthless, like other 0.1% of playerbase though. Eventually they will add Ruthless to PoE2 and no one will play it again.

True.
But they already nerfed Act 1 and 3, it's only matter of time when it becomes easier and skippable enough as in PoE1.

You realize that the majority of ppl who bought "PoE2 Early Access" are the PoE1 community, no!?
Btw, your estimation is highly flawed. GGG made so much money with PoE2 EA because of the keys. When PoE2 goes into full release, it will be Free2Play, thus having the same revenue system as PoE1.
And good luck funding PoE2 when the majority of players does not want to fund your game anymore.

How is it true when in fact PoE 2 is a different game?
Griefing over the campaign is a very unique PoE 1 player trait.

Defending a highly flawed system because you like to say things is not the way.

I prefer sticking to reality to fiction. PoE 2 is a completely different game with a different client, playerbase, scope, and everything.
