Merchant tab is NOT an upgrade.

Like everything else they implement, it has to have a downside. They *could* have just made it so your premium tabs could sell items at a fixed price and the button click by the user made the transaction and the transfer happen automatically with nobody having to go anywhere.

But when GGG giveth, GGG feels compelled to take away. And this makes some people buy more tabs, so money. Why do something right when you can do it half-right and make money?

will continue to enjoy what we waited for for years in automated trading.

you can suffer in your feelings for all we care. its the best change to either poe1 or poe2, in the games history. (i guess currency exchange is right up there tho, but the ability to list things, and log on the next day, week, month... and have things sold ready for me to pick up currency, is slightly more win imo as its currency i would have never gotten OTHERWISE.)

Yeah so this isn't actually how words work. Things can be more than one thing. Nothing in the definitions of "upgrade" and "convert" suggest they are mutually exclusive. If I convert something and in the process it becomes more useful or valuable to me, then I have also upgraded it.

Personally, I had far more Premium Tabs then I needed for storage, so converting a few to Market Tabs was absolutely an upgrade. If the Premium Tab you converted was more valuable to you than the Market Tab then sure, it wasn't an upgrade for you. Setting aside the obvious question of why you would convert the tab if you didn't personally consider it an upgrade, it's irrelevant because the tabs cost the same amount. You can just buy another Premium Tab and you will be in the same position as if you had never converted.

And anyone suggesting they "could have just" implemented the market features on top of the existing storage infrastructure will necessarily be someone who has never written a line of code in their lives let alone contributed to a significant project. The Market Tabs are fundamentally different entities with all sorts of additional triggers and logic attached. It would have been far more complicated from both a user interface and a backend logic and data management perspective. Creating a separate, unique tab to encapsulate these features is a no-brainer.

I have already given you examples of lost functionality.

You using something one way doesn't mean others are using it that way.

I am not saying you're not gaining functionality, that's a given. What I am saying is you're losing functionality, and there was no information of that.

I would do that if I could, yes, but I can't, which is why I made the thread.

You're the one bringing in feelings to this.

And again, I am also enjoying the merchant tabs, I think they are great and as you say, probably one of the best additions to the game in a long time. That's not what I'm arguaing about however.
