So 0.4.0 Released yesterday. Already bored. Game play pacing is way off.

End game is a disaster, no currency drops, monsters buffed, chars nerfed, clarity is terrible, just one big fire work factory explosion, cant see anything. This is the vision? If it's the ''vision' why nothing is ''visible''? I play ranger poison, gas is allover the ground it covers all damaging ailments form monsters, I just stand and watch how my life disappears in milliseconds, I am standing on chaos ground or fire? xDD
I feel like the problems with PoE2 that make the game feel like a slog are the following:

1. Act 3+ maps are still fucking massive
2. Drops are fucking anemic to the point of carrying your act I gear to act IV if you don't wanna grind out an upgrade.
3. Movement speed on boots is such a must that without it your char is like walking on quicksand, they should seriously consider cutting 1 or even 2 prefixes from boots and add MS as an implicit based on ilvl. That also gives a div currency sink. To top it all off all MS passives are herded to the bottom right of the tree.
4. As people have pointed out GGG currently pidgeonholes you hard to a set amount of builds or you just die or do zero damage and sometimes both. We need better build diversity and a rework of the gem/weapon system because this ain't it chief. Also way too heavy handed on nerfs to the point of completely killing builds forever, and there is still this hateboner for melee that also have desynch issues that i just can't understand.
5. Current update feels like less of an update and more of a midseason patch.

Ye PoE2 feels like that dream where you are punching but it feels like you are underwater.

They have major issues with quantity over quality so much useless shit. And items drops meh to be honest. I never feel excited when something drops because it is 9/10 times just trash. Crafting sucks so bad, there is 0 deterministic ways to get affixes you actually want. I honestly don't know who they are catering to with PoE2, I love RPGs and ARPGs but something about PoE2 just puts me off. I really wanted to like this game since they obviously work hard on it but their direction just seems way off.

Thats the nature of slot machine type of drops in these games. If you would get the best item immediatly, then every single other item after the fact is automatically trash. And if all drops are automatically better than what you have, then you run into a problem of Bethesda games where road bandits want to rob you for pocket change while wearing legendary armor, or finding a legendary mace in a quest that is immediatly crap afterwards because a rusty orc axe in a random cave is +1 better.
hi, i went with bear of Kitava. and a little more def playing. was an HC build for SC used. i never had a problem exept my own stupidity.

first i did not use the temple, wanted to go endgame fast. later after first trempel and an massive upgrade of weapon i dit temle every possible time. alsways rolled a next gen weapon every 6 to 10 levels, alsway had one or two exalted benches and one quality bench every temple.

that made my weapons always nearly BIS for Campain damage. the rest did not matter much, when base damage of weapon is superhigh,

i went slow as im still killing to much trash, but i startet late on saturday and sunday evening i ended middle of interludes. with smash and wolfjump. and litte wine :-)

i had a blast.

so thanks ggg
patch was a big jump in right direction, campaing now is really solid and fun.
endgame dont know.
but i will quit in some weeks, and see what ther will be next patch.

Maybe that is the goal of POE2? To get us to realize we have better things to do in our life than play a game? :) Nah I am just kidding, I don't think this is "on purpose" it is either bad design or bad pacing. Basically when you get into the game you have to systematically take apart groups one at a time and dodge ground effect instant death circles by the witches that are, by the way, quite hard to see. Thee game throws a flood of creatures at you quickly and it takes until mid act 2 before you have any pacing to make it feel like you have a rhythm. Once we get to the sunken city the pacing is back off again.

its not theirs 1st game... they know exacly when ppl buy support packs when not... thats how we can communicate with the ggg.

i lost my interest in keepers of flame... and now... i ended in act 2... ofc stomped everything with lvl 16 talisman 142 dps... lucky craft... but game itself is sooooooo slow paced and boring... i want action... ARPG? and i get forced combos and unbalanced RNG...

i feel like they "force us" to test new content nertfing old1 to prevent "testers" to play already tested content.

for me its over... no packs not mtx... game gave me nothing this league so i do same to the game.
I agree that Act 1 on your league start character seems very painful unless you're doing like one of two good league starts.

I think in general the content of the game scales way faster than your character and there's a disconnect for 95% of builds in act 1 around the thorn forest zone. The amount of mobs just scales up faster than almost everyone's ability to deal with them.

Once you're level 22 - 26ish and get more skills opened up and some supports I think most playable builds start to smooth out. I hope they can find a way to reduce the immense "friction" starting out.

poe2 is TOO easy. too fast.
act3 (map-size) is TOO big and act4 too.
we need a rework for act3 and 4 with more unique quests and permanent rewards.

I can get behind that. Anyone who is saying Act 1-2 is a slog fest clearly don't know how to pick up items and utilize them or just have a crap build.

.4 already seems like the build diversity has increased. I got 8 buddies all doing different kind of druid builds (myself would make 9) and all of us are cruising.

and to the "poeninja" people...no that does not mean there is no build diversity.
Act1 is not bad at all... it's the best act of the game imo at the moment, would be better with a league content that doesn't require you to do 10 maps to do, (i know it's 6...) but maps are so huge you don't even find it in most of the areas.

but yeah campaign is just sooooo boring, i've reached interlude yesterday it tooks me 2 day because i had to take tons of break from the game because of how boring and exhausting it is. i've uninstalled the game probably not gonna come back to PoE2 until campaign change "massively" i've reached the interlude which are not too bad but i'm burnt out already from the previous acts.
