Why are people calling PoE P2W with the incoming Challenges?
yup, poe is pay to win, quit now and enjoy the non pay to win f2p game market.

There are twenty four character slots and using some of them to store ninety unique items should be sufficient.

johnKeys your argument seems a bit rubbish tbh.
Most currency should be easily obtained within 4 months. Your thing about not being about to get exalts... really? in 4 months playing you will likely have dropped one, if you haven't you will likely have found an item that you can probably sell for an exalt, if you haven't you will likely have build up enough other currency to buy several exalts from others... And alterations can be vendored into Jewellers and Fusings... do you really think nobody will want to buy fusings or jewellers... or chroms etc in the league? | |

" I'm going to be honest: my absolutely terrible luck changed recently, but not quite. despite never seeing what an Exalted Orb looks like - today I got a Le Heup ring which is worth one if sold. I also have several rares in stash, worth a few more I imagine. but I feel it wasn't a reward for my skill. I got it in a map run with a friend. it dropped for him, thanks to his Magic Find. and he let me have it. I would never get a good drop playing solo, self-found, no trade. never. my luck is that bad. and the good rares dropped thanks to other people too. and I think I'm not too bad skill-wise, playing for 30 years. played every RPG and ARPG you can imagine. learning everything with common sense and trial and error. enjoying the journey rather than just the destination. getting to where I am in this game with my main custom-built melee Marauder. building a custom HC caster I really enjoy playing. I won't argue about P2W or not P2W any more. it just seems like this planned achievement - "find all orbs" - isn't a test of skill. people who would buy the orbs with real money, get them with dumb luck from an Act 1 Normal rare, or ninja them from someone, exploiting his/her luck? they won't have a problem with it. didn't "earn" it? so what? "challenge" completed, right? that's all that really matters, right? not to me. the ring? I won't sell it. I'll equip and use it. but not before trying one more time to return it to the guy it belongs to. for free. " Especially considering that there will be a completely fresh economy for this league, I'm willing to bet that with any reasonable amount of time spent(and certainly with the amount of time you would need to spend to complete all the other challenges), you could easily get enough currency to trade up to an exalted just by selling all the normal quality gems you find. Or just by vendoring items for alts, then using those to buy jewelers and then fusings from vendors, then trading those to players for any remaining orbs you need. Hell, with four MONTHS to work with, you could probably run a1 normal, vendor white items for scroll fragments, and trade/vendor up from those to get all the orbs in time. You can whine about "bad luck" all you want in a 1 hour race or maybe even a 1 week, but with that much time to work with, if you can't find SOMETHING to trade for 1 of each orb, luck is the least of your problems. |

" Yeah, realized that a few minutes after posting, but was already on my way in to work, co couldn't correct it at the time, and as you said it doesn't really affect my argument much anyway since on average at least, the items will still be smaller than that. And yes, I would also assume that GGG did consider this problem as well and made sure that they chose the number of uniques such that they would all fit into a normal-sized stash as well. Also, if they are counting it per account, rather than per character, there's also the fact that each league will have a separate stash as well, so that's potentially 4 times as many slots. |

" And how will you be able to hold the items for completing the challange then? |
![]() |
If the average unique takes up lets say 4 squares, you'd need 2.5 stash tabs to hold that. Altenatively, you can make a few alts to store them.
Obviously, this would encourage you to buy more tabs if you don't have them already, but even then I don't see how this particular thing P2W since it doesn't offer any gameplay advantage. It only offers t-shirt gaining advantages. I guess the t-shirt is p2w. |
