" And your point? Totems suck against all ele dmg and ranged. CI sucks against ele dmg, puncture, small rooms. Ranged either deals no damage (full tank) or sucks against ranged / chaos even more than melee. At the moment melee is balanced in my opinion. Because to deal the same damage than ranged you need less damage nodes (because of base weapon damage, str dmg bonus or iron will) and can go tanky because of that. But yeah, people will always cry and want a melee that can facetank everyhing, a summoner/dual totem with invincible totems/minions, caster with 100% chance to freeze/shock and of course mobs dealing 1 dmg while having 10k HP/ES. |

" Sorry, but I don't give a flying sh.. about normal, cruel or "most white packs in merc". I only talked about Kole as an example for hard hitters. I'm talking about maps and endgame in general. But hey, just log on to your melee marauder and make a video showing us some of your great melee action in some 74+ maps 80%+ quality. "Yes, it is perfectly fair. It just sucks ass."

BTW nerf Life make harder BM And LL builds. Now only 1-2 for melee playeble and other worse now. And New bosses just new Piety thats cool GGG. Less surv + harder bosses + nerf curses + nerf ALL POSSIBLE ways to surv and then make a LITTLE nerf for mabs :) HAHAHA :D I think now all balanced. It's just balance :)

From what I have been playing so far on my Blood Magic LA/EH Duelist, I am finding the changes to be...hit and miss. I normally run 4 auras and they are: Anger, Wrath, Hatred, and Grace. I believe right now I have around 3,750 HP (originally had 4414 or so) so I lost close to 700 life with these changes. With all the auras on I have around 2,650 HP and so far in 70-71 maps I am surviving all right, but it's not without risks. Any map with added lightning damage is very touch and go and I had a few close calls, but I managed to scrape by with some fast potion drinking and running away. Here's what else I have noticed:
1. Skeletal caster mobs have definitely, definitely gotten nerfed as I let three beat on me without retaliation (fire types) and my regen was keeping on par with their damage. Of course, this is without added damage map mods but even with them the damage nerf is noticeable. 2. Armor still sucks. Yes, I know, I know, it has helped against weaker to medium hits, but it's worked fine against them before (I have around 9,100 or so with auras up), and it still is terrible against harder hitting mobs. It's even worse now against those rolling rock mobs, especially ones that get added elemental damage to their attacks because the attacks already hurt enough to 'crush' armor, and then add on the elemental damage and lower resists...yeah...they hurt. Rhoas, shield charger mobs, and others seem to be hurting more than before as well, and with desync still around...not fun. With the current formulas and mechanics still (IMHO) being faulty and needing some revamping, these changes do little to help because the foundation armor is built upon is poor and will make it annoying to fix until this whole 'crushing blows' thing is done away with. 3. My elemental damage has taken a bit of a hit, but not by a lot and my LA/EH still seem to hit pretty hard, so that's fine in that regard. I have to admit I am rather concerned about trying out one of my old Rangers due to the life node nerfs. I still really feel like this whole patch was a failure in terms of balancing and trying to make life nodes less of a need. In fact, I think it's made them even more valuable, but I will wait and do a little more testing and trying things out before passing a final judgment. As it stand now though...not impressed. Well, dual totems and ranged is weak against aa, bb. That was my point there. Every build is strong somewhere and weak somewhere else. That makes them balanced. " I played with a tank (Xendran) in CB in 1 week turbo race some higher maps and he couldn't facetank everything but could tank it. And since then melee got only buffed. Ok, wait, melee is weak in 2-5% of the content but really good in almost all other content. Doesn't that make it balanced? But yeah, cry about the 10 bosses melee has problems with and forget all the content CI / totems has problems with. Forget the problems ranged has with reflect. 9k ES CI dual totem is weak against map vaal compared to 8k HP mara => CI dual totems is useless, unplayable and needs a buff. Mara is so OP and needs a nerf !!!11! Thats like all the buff melee people sound like ... sry. |

kept my prepatch LA ranger build, have 5kHP, no kaoms. will continue to spec life nodes till there are none nearby. just a dps nerf for me. Can still handle everything I could prepatch.
will probably try a mace/shield infernal blow character at some point. maybe a duelist for once. People should give it a week before QQing about how the patch was a total nerf. To me it feels pretty much like it wasn't a change at all, just different numbers. GGG might address the % cost of the BM gem and maybe the cost of the non% auras if they feel generous for BM builds, but maybe it's time to start running mana builds with melee and some ranged characters. Although mana/mana regen should require less investment to be viable. This is the number one reason the game is path of life nodes, you can simplify survival + resource cost by opting for blood magic. You can then invest HP points that count for higher survival and have the ability to help you spam your 5/6L skill instead of dumping lots of points into mana and still being heavily dependent on potions/regen/a link dependent leech that doesn't keep you alive.Not to mention opting for mana means less points/affixes on items overall dedicated to survival in the form of HP/resists/armour/dps etc. Combine this with the fact that HP is probably still the best way to stay alive in terms of the way it is available (prefix on all item slots, lots of nodes all over )/ scales with all types of damage/ AND helps reduce base stun/freeze times. None of these core problems were really addressed in the patch. So I can understand the disappointment but frankly the game is not so vastly different that it is now impossible. Playing it the exact way I did prepatch (on an LA ranger) with pretty much the exact same results. and yes, I play HC, to all those who would QQ about softcore theorycraft. @Pietas_ Последняя редакция: Endless1#0688. I even can remember a time when melee mara was totally op, but that is another story. "Cry about 10 bosses and ignore all the content" What content are you talking about? Act one to three? I think it takes max. 20 hours to reach map-phase. And 10 bosses would be the whole endgame since there are only 10 different maps 74+. ^^ Besides when you have problems with totem or ranged chars you really need to learn how to play these classes.
