True or False: Reflect is OP

Why return damage to the player? Why force a high dps character to randomly kill itself in less than a half second? Why expect the player to read the modifiers of every rare in order to ID the 1:100 reflect. Since reflect is ele or phys, it's only effective against the player half the time. What other mechanic functions like this? What mechanic is more responsible for end game HC deaths than reflect? What percentages? Why return damage to the player? If you're physical dmg, use immortal call.
You can also use totems to kill reflect mobs. Traps/mines also work on reflect mobs. |

Because it puts "lol fuck it moar dmg" people in their place. I'm just about positive that people would figure out builds that could get enough damage that they would obliterate everything in the game before it could touch them with little or no investment in defense if reflect was taken away.

All ARPGs are about trade-offs. Why is there a massive passive tree where you can't possibly get all the nodes?
In the same sense, Reflect is about balancing your damage output with your defense. While less so in PoE, in other ARPGs you can get away with being a glass cannon to a large degree once your DPS is high enough. Reflect is meant to challenge those players. |

Another similar mechanic is lightning thorns, which returns more damage to the players who have incredibly high amounts of attack speed/cast speed and or hit multiple times on a target. Lightning thorns is also sufficiently strong enough to kill a character immediately, and it is regardless of the damage dealt the monster. It is just something you need to play carefully against.

Its a really boring mechanic, but its not op. Personally if they want people to only be able to kill mobs at certain rates they should have just made it so that you could only get so much dps by designing the games abilities and gear to only scale so high, but ohwell.
I do think it needs a nerf against melee(because range can get around it with totems, melee can not.) but I dont ever expect it to happen. IGN

PoE endgame: desync + reflect. Basically you build your characters around reflect, which is sad imo
