well those are some ways to avoid it yes howeve thare are many others as well .
If u opt to not use ANY defensive stats and stack DPS and or MF then yes u are a glass cannon and u should die. But remember u STILL CAN RUN A CHARACTER LIKE THIS , u just must be very carfull and play very smart, i do not recomend this however it is `posible`. So yes the mechanic is fine This thread is like saying ``Y do i take damage when i get hit by a mob`` the anwser is simpile cuz it would be boring as hell having no way to die . No 1 would play a game like that. I don`t understand y this thread pops up evrey other week all games have mechaincs that run `check` on a character. Diablo 3 has DPS checks on bosses with enrage timers. EvE online has 1 shot alpha damage on slepers and 10é10 complexes to make sure only the tankest players can run them. What`s the problem hear , Reflect keeps you and your character in line with the thousands of other character. Just in the same way running no DPS and pure tank dose , sure u can tank it all but u can`t kill anything. That`s the same thing but no 1 makes posts about that Just a sec let me grab a beer...@#*@ Ok how did I die this time

If you want to punish glass cannons, do it through actual enemy damage, not some cheap-ass gimmick like reflect. You want to make bosses tougher, enemies stronger, go for it, but when I can solo lvl 74 maps, but reflect fuck myself in one shot, that's a broken mechanic plain and simple.
Now, running solo, reflect isn't that big of a deal. I don't think I've ever died from it alone. However, in a party with everyone else's auras going, giving me way more damage, and shit lagging like crazy, its a death sentence. So yay, one more reason for me to play solo, just what I wanted. I've completely quit running maps in groups, hence why I'm solo'ing my lvl74+ maps. I guess we should all build sporkers or melee tanks so we can survive reflect. That makes sense. I don't even want it removed, it just needs some work. If they could cap the amount reflected to a certain percentage of your damage or max life, at least then we wouldn't have to build around this one, single, random thing, and actually evaluate it like any other mechanic in the game (ele dmg, chaos dmg, curses) IGN: Standard: Feugue, Domination: KaomsDisciple

When in a party, game lags like hell, bosses/tough mobs can oneshot you because of increased damage, loot litters ground making you spent a lot more time to collect things you need, you cant carry out more than one inventore from map, and for all that you gain LESS loot! Just ridiculous! The most broken party mechanics EVER! BTW, i play melee DPS char, i have just 3.5-4k ES while having 28-36k DPS, but I DONT DIE TO REFLECT! When i use Flicker Strike, Immortal Call removes any reflect troubles (though even without it, i dont oneshot myself). When i use Lightning Strike (with life leech), i barely notice reflect at all! If your characters get screwed by reflect, it's your own fault, or your unproper gear, or wrong build. People complain the same about freeze: "bla-bla-bla, i must use Dream Fragments/Alpha Howl/Auxim, or i simply freeze to death". I dont use that crap, and still dont die because of freeze (and, no, i dont have Crystal Skin cluster learned). When even my discharger can survive reflect I'll say it's fine. About problems other guys have - isn't reflect clearly marked? Just use normal attack or alternative skill or devise a different strategy.

It is not clearly marked ie. at mobs walking on water.
And some builds require a lot of damage to work properly, like Stun builds. IGN @Ostropalca

" Reflect is fine. You should be aware of killing yourself due to dealing too much damage of a certain type, physical/elemental. I must be a cancerous elitist because I have a difference of opinion. :( I have 13k dps at level 88 on onslaught and I don't feel the need to go over that due to the fact that I want my character to be able to run -max maps with reflect. It's not hard to switch a few things out to make it work. Other then -max + reflect I can spam into reflect without a worry. Not sure where you get this "build your characters around reflect" from. Desync has never been an issue for me... been playing since closed beta too. I think people just love to find something to complain about, it's in every game. It's false. There are plenty of ways to avoid deaths from reflect.
