Nobody forces you to make a tanky character, you can make an HC glass cannon and live on the edge.
You cant really say that PoE is a piece of cake in front of what the others are pulling off, do I need to mention D3? I mean really? To be able to facetank any content in these kind of games is the achievemnt, when you do, all you have left is reroll and try something new, if the game was too difficult the devs would basically shot in their foot because most of the player base will ragequit. Did I enjoyed old games witha very limited number of lives and very few room for mistakes? Yes. Do I want to go back in 1990 for that? No thanks I'm better the way it is now as long as there is content for me to explore and new things to do. |

It is usually pretty avoidable if you can recognize the auras. One exception to this is when a bug had the aura in City of Sarn but was in the grass environment effect and so the aura effect was not very easy to see at all. So as the mob with the aura came up from behind a building, out of my view, his aura hit the mobs I was attacking and I was toast.
Oddly enough, despite the aura effect not being visible from within the grass, that death was still my fault because it still took 3 or 4 pulses to kill me but I saw my health drop after the second. |

Hmm,having reflect as a counter to high DPS builds.Thats fine and it should stay.However it is to stay i would like to see mods that punish alot of other builds as well,cause like this it is really unfair.
-Mobs and map affixes that give block penetration-and yeah up to 100% -Mobs and affixes that give armour penetration -Mobs and affixes that bypass evasion -Mobs and affixes that makes monsters hit harder,the more HP/ES you have -Mobs tha kills your regeneration and ES recovery-in case of vaal pact cuts down your leech in half -I also think that maybe reflect for melee should be a tiny bit lower,than ranged since,u are getting hit as well I d be happy if i see these added in the game as well.The game already puishes DPS characters way way way more.Especially when there are certain uniques that allows u to deal 15-20K or more AoR DPS with investing 0 -5 points in damage passives. " Are you kidding me? Why should building DPS characters be the only punished build... I laughed out loud at this mate. If you don't understand the PRO'S of having high DPS vs LOW DPS (with high HP), then I don't know what to respond to this..the obvious con's of high DPS, are -you guessed it- reflect. And they put items like Voltaxic in the game so that the QQ'ers about reflect have AN ALTERNATIVE to having high DPS and being able to laugh at reflect. Seriously guys, reflect is fine, like I said THERE ARE PRO'S AND CON'S of having super high DPS. Do you not realize that you have THE CHOICE of going for all that DPS? You obviously know the dangers, and you choose to do it anyways. Instead of crying about it, change up your build like many people do and grab that extra armor node instead of that increased physical damage node instead. I'll give you this; the Shadow part of the tree deserves some more attention as far as being able to mitigate damage since there is no armor nodes around there and it's a pretty far travel just to obtain them. Anyway I'm done responding in this thread. It honestly i just turning into a lot of QQ. I stand by what I said, the only thing that should be changed is a better telling if a monster has reflect elemental/physical damage as an affix. ---I understand you can see the aura's from them. " The game already has a lot of that. Like enemies with these auras: Allies Deal Extra Physical Damage Increases the damage that monsters deal by 30%. Allies Deal Substantial Extra Physical Damage Increases the damage that monsters deal by 50%. Allies Have Increased Accuracy and Critical Strike Chance Makes monsters 45% more accurate and increases their critical strike chance by 75%. For example, if they had a 5% critical strike chance before, now it would be 8.75%. And enemies that cast stuff like Vulnerability. |

" You're missing the point.. Builds that decide to go lower DPS and be more tanky and take more life nodes, they ARE ALREADY PENALIZED. They have a much slower clear speed in maps/area's. High DPS has very fast clear speeds, but is more suspect against reflect. How is this so hard to understand...? |

personal dps past a certain easily attainable point in groups is almost meaningless.
the gains of devoting more passives to dps means marginally faster clear speeds and vastly increased chance of self gimping to reflect as well as everything else. why would anyone stack anything other than defensive in this case.
