Charms, Shrines, Treasure Goblins, Trap Chests, Dynamic Events ect & OB Launch
I’d like to see shrines that add map mods to the general areas I’m in.

No need for charms, you've got flasks instead.
No need for goblins, thera are rare mobs with wealth mod. All of your other ideas are good, and should be implemented. "I'm programmed to say something that is kind and uplifting at this point, but there is apparently an error that is working in my favor."

I like all ideas except charms. I think devs said that is not going to happen, anyway. Not that they couldn't have changed their mind.
Yeah, there are wealth mods but they are extremely rare. Got beta key on 15/11/2011, thanks dave01 Последняя редакция: Githian#5812. Время: 17 окт. 2012 г., 13:28:32

How often do people really notice the "wealth" mod. I have never actually seen the word wealth. I am sure I have ran into the groups a time or 2 but didn't actually verify that they had the mod. To me its not the same thing as a treasure goblin. Its great getting a nice loot explosion but I loved the rush of seeing one and then hoping that I would kill him before he gets away.
I know that there are issues with this, with people farming it, and botting it. I just want to ask if GGG can successfully implement them that they do so because they are so much fun. Standard Forever

Treasure Goblins: No
Raising the probability of wealth mod mobs: Slightly raise, yes.. it's good that they are super rare. I've seen the mod twice (on cairn annihilator's, which dropped very well. And on a Rare mob that didn't drop well at all) I would rather see them drop better once they are found. The wealth mods I mentioned were before migration and with 110% IIR and around 80% IIQ, was happy with the cairn drop; pissed about the rare drop. Golden key idea: Yes. Love the idea of one mob in an area dropping a key for a special chest or something. I think this would actually be a really great idea to make up for the lack of chests in maps. Perhaps have a mob drop a key or item that could unlock a special door in a map that loads a chest and some good items. Like a wealth mod mob, but for a chest. This would also be a pretty low chance. Also, would like to echo this: " I have more battle scars than the number of hairs on your ass! Time Zone: CST -6 (Texas) Последняя редакция: Lord_Deimos#7141. Время: 17 окт. 2012 г., 17:32:16

Everything I suggested in OP can be seen in other games, half the point was that POE seems to be lacking things that can be seen in almost every other ARPG. Aspects that have become a staple of the genre (or so I thought) aren't present in POE & IMO for no good reason.
I am hoping it's a case of they in the pipeline but with OB just around the corner & little in the forums about it I thought I would raise my concerns. If you are directly referring to Goblins (which aren't even original to D3, ever play Golden Axe?) then you can see I also said "I'm not saying just copy the d3 goblin but even with an ounce of thought there are a ton of possibilities." |

For the key idea, i think it would be good if the key could be found from any minor unique boss (Like Sawbones,Chatters), and it would open the large chests after major bosses (if they will be back) like Brutus, Merveil etc. The key could be also random like "Key of Brutality", "Key of the Siren" etc, also make sure that the keys are only drop for the current act's chests also in the correct difficulty.
Keys shouldn't be a garantued drop. "I'm programmed to say something that is kind and uplifting at this point, but there is apparently an error that is working in my favor."

Charms: I really don't like the idea of D2 style charms for PoE. I would, however, prefer TQ's method of socketing charms/relics. PoE's socket system doesn't really leave room for that so I say no to charms.
Shrines: I honestly don't care if there are any shrines. I, too, don't care to see the usual life/mana/speed shrines, however, I wouldn't mind the Shrine of Exile Goblins: I've voiced my opinion about this when it was first suggested months ago and my opinion remains the same, No. Trap Chests: If you pay attention, you can sometimes hear a similar 'trap' sound from D2 when you open chests. When I first started playing PoE, my initial reaction was to run back a few steps in case a fireball came my way or a poison cloud surrounded the chest. To my surprise and dissatisfaction, nothing ever happened. This is something that is definitely lacking in PoE. As for TL2 style chests with a missing key.. I really don't like that idea. It's basically the same idea as the treasure goblin. Instead of running around trying to catch the loot chest itself, you're running around looking for a key to the chest. Dynamic Events: I totally agree with this. In addition, I would love to see hidden or secret areas. These areas would not be visible on the minimap but should be accessible by pathways hidden behind trees or stone arches or perhaps hidden behind destructible walls. I don't know if we'll ever see hidden areas though because of how PoE's map randomization works. |
