My only suggestion would be for Wealth Mod adds to have something special about them...
...Make the Wealth mods bigger and Shining gold or some such...
...Don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with loot going everywhere, there was just no excitement while killing it because i did not know it was any different from any other mob.

*emphasis mine

I have never knowingly killed a wealth mob. In retrospect, I think I might have killed a few, but I'm very much guessing.

The wow factor on Wealth mobs would be much higher if they stood out a LOT more.

This right here is the problem. Make the Wealth mod guys show bright gold or something. You should always KNOW when you find them!!!!

I think it would be fun if items dropped from the Vaults of Atziri and from Wealth Mobs had a little flavor text on them, to indicate their origin.

I hope for all of these

but I know that the team is working on important content

and maybe later they can work on cool content

coolness is important. but important is importanter.
Charms: No.
Theres already an issue imo with inventory space. The last thing we need is to take up more. Theres also already an extreme amount of customization with gear/gems/skills. Much more then D2 had.

Shrines: Maybe.
I wouldn't want to see generic shrines littered about. I would however like to see something where randomly when you enter a zone, a shrine can spawn, and if you click it it changes the zone somehow. Kind of like map mods, but just a single adjustment. Something to add random flavor as you level.

Goblins: Hell no.
Completely pointless in this game. Diablo 3 added goblins because they knew they set the loot up to be horrible, and they added these to make it not seem bad, and they still ended up nerfing them. This game does not have an issue with loot drops. As others have suggested, making "wealth" mod more noticeable is enough.

Trap Chests: Maybe.
The two ideas given by OP are bad imo. If you can see and attack trap chests before hand it defeats the purpose to me.
As for locked chests, as someone pointed out, its basically just like goblins. Also, again, we get enough loot already.
I could support something like taking a portion of the chests that already spawn, bunching them together, and putting a pack of mobs around it.

Dynamic Events: Of course.
This really should be a given in this day and age. There is a ridiculous amount of cool stuff that can be done. As an example, expanding on the chests idea, a random village could spawn with unique defenders guarding a chest. This should reduce the amount of normal chests in an area though. We get enough already.

Also, I agree that the game will likely be more of a cult classic. It really isn't designed in a way that the majority of gamers will be interested in. I have a feeling GGG isn't going to be making nearly as much as they think they should/want/need to.

Its interesting that there seems to be such a negative response to goblins when wealth mobs are essentially the exact same thing. Is it just an anti-D3 reaction when you hear the word goblin or what?

Saying that charms are a bad idea because there's a small inventory is missing the point of charms, you trade inventory space for a bonus, to me that's a mechanic that adds a little more risk/reward to how you use your inventory.

Probably. The D3 goblins are just horrible. It'd be great if they were incredibly rare, like PoE's wealth mob. It'd be great if they actually added to the game experience like stealing your items as they did in Dungeon Siege 2, or stealing your mana in Golden Axe. Instead, it's just a cheap gimmick. The D3 goblin, it's a boring, watered-down version of widely used genre feature. It doesn't attack, it doesn't steal, it's not as rare as it should be, it's just a walking loot chest with a timer and a small health pool.

On top of that, Wraeclast just doesn't seem like a fitting setting for a little creature that runs around dropping currency.

I am all for making the wealth mod in this game better. However I still disagree that a goblin (TYPE CHARACTER) offers nothing to the game.

Yes D3's loot was awful but that doesn't mean that there was anything wrong with the mechanic. Goblins were a lot of fun to kill EVEN THOUGH I KNEW THE LOOT WOULD SUCK! Thats a testament to a good idea and good design.

I never thought that POE should just rip goblins off entirely. Make a POE version of the character. Update it. Make it better. Make it a thief or something. I think the point of the character is that he is trying to ultimately get away from you and if your not quick enough to get him you miss out on the loot. Thats a fun mechanic IMO.

heres why treasure goblins are wrong, very wrong:

TG's are cartoony, arcadey, and artificial feeling.

PoE is dark, gritty and a bit tense feeling.

If you want PoE to be another light n fluffy go here kill this yay! game then add TG's.

They add exactly nothing to the story, the immersion or the flavour of the game.

adding them would be a monumentally stupid thing to do, in terms of the game as a whole. Exactly the same way they feel discordant in D3.

This would be why I would not want TG's ripped straight into the game.

BTW I am not following your "light n fluffy go here kill this yay!" comment. All ARPG's are go here and kill that games. Also, graphics don't really make a game good or bad. POE could look cartoony and would still be a great game.

I’d like to see shrines that add map mods to the general areas I’m in.

No one else went bug-eyed over this suggestion?
It's really awesome and would fit into the UI extremely well.
You hit a shrine and you see the mods added in the upper-right of the screen ("Enemies do 88% more damage as fire","Area drops 20% more items").

As for OP, charms and goblins sound horrible. Covert has the best shrine suggestion aside from the unique "shrine" endgame area suggested heavily in the suggestion subforum. Trap chests and dynamic events, hell yeah.
