Plea to devs to address the sexism

Who bumped this crap!

Anyway... If she is that offended why isn't she here giving feed back? Is she that helpless that a big strong man has to come stick up for her? Maybe if he saw her as a woman and not a damsel in distress, she'd actually want to play games with him. What a jerk.

It's not art, it's Kitsch. The kind of generic Kitsch you get on posters for 9.99$ in any Walmart, where half-naked women with big tits fight sabretoothtigers.
No offense to the artist, I'm just sure this was never meant to be more than that.

Nudity has been a staple of many classic artistic pieces. You are just being obtuse here. Seriously, Nudity of the human form has MANY examples in what is commonly accepted as 'high art'. The whole Hellenistic period is filled with well respected nude art.

And symbolic of what? Besides sex-slaveritism, I mean?

C'mon man. Nudity doesn't always allude to sex. YOU are the one who assumes they are representing something sexual. Nudity and chains can have other symbolic representations. Hell, the chains could even represent the complete opposite of sexuality. A chained woman is often used as a symbol of celibacy. Now maybe it could be said that to say so would be looking too deep into it. BUT, without context, it's all assumption. Herman Rorschach might say that you seeing them as sex slaves says more about you than it says about the images...

Have you removed Asus ROG/GameFirst yet?
This is such a mind numbingly useless debate. Even if this game was not fictional, and the globe statues were of actual sex slaves; then statues depicting real life history of women slaves being abused sexually would not be sexist. They would be accurate (Sexual Slavery).

This whole thread is predicated upon the original poster not knowing the story of the game (the History of Wraeclast). Yes, there are slaves, men and women, however there is no mention of sexual slavery. The game is full of nudity, both male and female. The artist who designed the globe statues chose women, like many artists of statues in real life.

I don't support the idea of everything having to be politically correct. An artist's creative endeavors should not be limited. One boy, one girl, one white, one black, it should be the choice of the artist. Everything does not need to be perfectly balanced. If someone is too closed minded to see that, then I feel sorry for them.

I honestly think we are just being trolled by those who have continued following the original poster's uninformed mindset.

Since nobody seems to be able to come up with anything that Young and Attractive + Naked + Chained could mean besides SEXSLAVE, here it is: These women are obviously meant to be sacrificed. To a dragon. There. Peace out.

Your almost right, but not a dragon. Its to King Kong! The 8th wonder of the world!

But to get back to the serious nature of this topic, what if GGG add this guy to the UI? Ye I know Disney will sue there asses, but hopefully it will elevate the mood of some peeps in this topic:

Can I just point out the girls are about as real as anything else in this game?

I think those two may be confusing reality with fantasy a bit ;)

Some people cannot distinguish between fantasy and reality. Games are made by men, men like to sexualize women in their games. If you girls want less tits in games, go make some. Oh wait, politically correct games suck.

That is sexist : women make games too and work in teams of games as graphist, game designer or developper ... and some of them like dark games ...

Tobes, you're like the new BMBI for these forums.
Your opinions are viewed as a joke, dude, quit trolling.

i see chains and women tied on my screen.

If i were a woman, i'd be offended.

just because my opinions are different from yours doesnt make it any less valid.

obviously reddit female gamers agree.

You are not woman so don't speak for us ...

Also, seriously, there are naked male statues all over the game as well. How exactly is having some female ones being sexist? I was also under the impression they were drawing a lot of stuff from Greek aesthetics. So, just, this is so minor. Everyone today, Jesus Christ, get the fuck over it. Everything is a sexist issue, everything is a racist issue. [Removed by Admin][/b]

I <3 you.

----

I'm a female, I can't say I've ever noticed the art on the orbs. I mean I've looked at them, I've seen them but when I am playing, running around, talking in chat I don't even notice them much less focus on them. I'm not the least bit offended and don't want GGG to change their art style. Some super sensitive females may be bothered by it but I'm not in that camp and never will be. I vote for more whips, chains and naked girls please.

I am woman too and mother also and agree with you.

You think "sexualized" is a synonym for pornographic? And the depiction of an attractive, young, naked female chained to a globe is not a sexualization? Or how do you mean?

Human bondage is an expression of power and domination, not sexuality.

And yet some how, some way, Fifty Shades of Grey succeeded. "The series has sold over 90 million copies worldwide and been translated into 52 languages,[3] and set the record as the fastest-selling paperback of all time." In 2015 the first movie will be out.

Women have showed in hardware stores asking for the "softest rope you have". That isn't something I just read about, but heard and saw two different women ask for it while I was in a hardware store. One of them blushed and looked down after asking it, the other was rather bold about it.

So, if we took the opinion that bondage is only about abuse, and never something a person might enjoy, than we should see women outright rejecting the novel.

While I don't find bondage sexy, people who go by the terms "doms" and "subs" do. They actively seek each other out. There are also people who enjoy a certain amount of pain with their pleasure.

Hence the scene in Monty Python where Sir Galahad faces the Oral Sects:

Zoot/Dingo: You must spank her well, and after you are done with her, you may deal with her as you like... and then... spank me.

All: And me. And me too. And me.

Dingo: Yes. Yes, you must give us all a good spanking.

At least 90 million people in the world disagree with your assessment that bondage has nothing to do with sexuality
