Sorry, but the chisel recipe is pain in the ass
it is a novel recipe , but i do agree the amount of work you put in to getting the supplies .. one chisel hardly seems worth the effort.
It reminds me of the 5 chance orb recipe. good on paper ... impractical in practice neither are necessarily bad but ultimately they are just too tedious for the pay out. |

if i play on my couch, using my 50" Tv i dont have a chance to read the white item text. im happy to notice orbs. no way i can hunt for stone hammers or similar without putting so much effort in it that its plain unfun.

I called it as soon as I read that recipe in the patch notes that it was a poorly thought out idea. They could have done something much less asinine to achieve the same effect. It's almost like they were trolling us with that one.

" As more charas you have, as more often you can check vendors, no problem there. Checking ALL vendors after each levelup is actualy standard if you want to maximize your item/currency pool. I always find chromes (9-10 with one char per compelte run through all mercs/difficulties) or even 5linked and 6 socket items there. Grabing these Hammers on the way should not cost additional time so checking vendors IS a efficient way to farm these things compared to waiting for loot. try it out, I have tons of chromes in my stash, I sell them regulary because I find so much of these. :) |

" Well, you don't level up that often. And when you do how many hammers will you find across all the vendors who sell them? ~4? That means you can get a single map to 20% quality "for free" each level. How many maps do you have to run before you level up again? |

This recipe is good in exactly one situation.
a) You have a character at Level ~70+ with a huge amount of trash 66 maps and of course lots of blacksmiths wetstones. b) You have a new character who is levelling from the start. You pick up every white stonehammer you find, you check A1N vendor every time you level, and you will easily make 50+ Chisels until you reach Merciless with character b). 3.5 build: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2299519 Последняя редакция: Peterlerock#5171. " You just don't chisel maps at all! ;) At least NEVER chisel maps under level 73-75 and only run cheap blue ones. I do so and it's the cheapest way to level up and you still get currency and make always profit because of basicly 0 invest in maps. I chisel a map maybe once in 2 weeks so I always have neough chisels becuase these drop too from time to time. Don't make the mistake to alch/chaos hundreds of maps, it's not worth at all. I pulled out 4 Unique Items within 2 hours out of ~15% quantity blue maps, along with half a dozend new maps and other loot. I never had this luck with rare maps at all. Beat the PoE RNG with it's own weapons, believe me, it works! Run only cheap maps, don't chisel to much, never spent much currency in maps ( I've heared some weirdos even BUY maps! XD ), run lower maps than 75 etc. I play mostly solo/selffound and it works compared nicely, even if you don't pump tons of currency into your maps and items. Последняя редакция: Fusion_Power#0294. Would be a better recipe if they simply added Rock Breakers and Gavels into the mix as viable recipe materials since they're basically the same base type as Stone Hammers.

I don't think it's meant to do what we want, what are chisels "supposed" to do.
I level up a new character to lvl 66, I have ~50 stone hammers which is more than 1 ex worth. Free money to buy stuff. |
