I play with my ethernet cord plugged in, when people aren't downloading videos on youtube or getting torrents. I also close the mini map in the top right hand corner, and turn off trade and global chat *sometimes keep global open*. I never desync. The only time I DID desync is when someone at my house is watching netflix (*using bandwidth*) and I have a pretty good CABLE Comcast connection, proving that the issue is not the game, but the internet and the way it works itself. And only when using whirling blades or running with two movement speed potions. Fin.

That isn't how desync works. You desync all the time. If you mean you never have a fatal case of desync then ok, I rarely have such cases too.

Pretty much this. I'm gradually coming to the realization that half of the people who talk about desync, don't actually know what it is, what REALLY causes it, or how prevalent it truly is. The cases we see people ranting about are worst case scenarios, so to speak. The ones that usually end with a resurrect button in the middle of the screen.

It has more to do with server calculations on path taken/position, vs clients emulation of path/position on your screen, somehow when you get to a doorway with certain skills the server-client communication becomes inaccurate to say the least.

I recall during solo of dominus yesterday on his 2nd form, I died due to a desync slam (animation was not even finished yet and I was outside the animation's radius), after death I /oos and it warped my body to where the server said I was, which was a good 3-4 inches from where I was on my screen, there is obviously a miscommunication between the client and server, or miscalculation that becomes more prevalent with certain skills, I'd assume the average broadband up to T1 speeds wouldn't make this miscalculation any more accurate.

There is tons of mmos/arpgs that don't desync as badly as poe, the downside to those games is supposedly AOE, but for certain movespeed can be exploited due to client memory modification, where as in POE it wouldn't be nearly as possible, most likely a movespeed exploit here would result in extra desync if not straight out disconnection. As pointed out in technical support section, the server really doesn't trust the client at all when dictating position or paths taken, resulting in a forced rubberband or just complete misses of mobs (melee cyclone).
I never get desync.
Desync does exist. It is just that it exists only for some people in some region. Just came back from a tour from China. China server has no desync.

I rarely experienced desync, and I attributed that success to my massive bandwidth, but now that I'm using whirling blades as my primary movement ability, I get it all the time. It's more like 'rubber banding' where the server thinks I am stuck on an object but I've moved several rooms farther ahead on the client by the time the server decides to update my location on the client side.
