how much are your pings?

im at 200-300ms and desync often but never to hard to actually die, maybe because i just run with double strike+multi attacking on place i resync mid battles?

Around 60. As mentioned, I only notice desync with melee builds, especially with Cyclone. I shelved that character in Cruel because it wasn't playable. It's not that he was dying, it's that it wasn't fun at all.

I also notice desync with other melee characters -- the combat flow is just "out of sync", kind of like watching a video when the audio lags behind slightly. It's that "this is off" feeling, like fighting in jelly.

On my summoner, totem stormcaller, and spectral thrower I barely ever notice desync, and it never ruins the experience. This limits what builds I can play, but it's a workaround.
The farming skill set I've been using causes me to desync several times per minute. Sometimes up to 15 seconds. If anyone wants to try to replicate I was using multistrike, flicker strike, melee splash, added phys damage, with blood rage enabled.

I was used to having desync and /oos command fixing it but now with using cyclone I'm quite often desynced for a long while when like for 5-10 seconds /oos has no effect on anything.
Imagine how easy it is to die in that time.

Moreover, cyclone doesn't hit at all when there is a major desync, meaning if the character is ES based without life regens then it is f**ked.
I really wish there be a desync free league with all hacks and dupes, but at least the game itself will be more enjoyable, well for people that don't trade.

Desync... you know it's a problem when you are a summoner, standing still summoning skeletons and then out of the blue you are not standing where you were.

try throwing traps, the thing that needs to be thrown under a monsters...its like playing dart blindfolded

Looking at the video posted in the OP, I would define what that player is experiencing as "lag" or "latency issues" and not "desynch".

I agree that desynch exists. I see it from time to time on my most recent build (Incinerate, so I stand still to attack), but it is typically minute. Like, so minor that when the client/server do resynch my character "jumps" by less than the length of his arm.

Far more prevalent than desynch, IMO, is lag/latency/packet loss. These all get grouped in and called "desynch", but they aren't.

I stopped playing in hardcore modes because my home network needs some tech upgrades to handle the throughput of all the various devices making use of it. It wasn't so bad until my boys each got an iPod touch and starting throttling even more bandwidth. Is it GGG's fault that I don't have a GB Router and hubs?

I wonder if some port forwarding might not help out. Anyone know what ports PoE uses?

i dont see how this is not desync
in the video:
70fps and 50ping is really fine
i have 100fps and 40ping and get more desync
there are people playing with 200ping and dont get as much desync

Yesterday my spectral throw scion died on merciless Vaal, and it was the weirdest death that i've ever had. I wasn't on the opposite side of the map from Vaal on a party of six, some were "meleeing" him, and suddenly i died. Nobody understood that death... dunno if it was desync or the rocks that sometime fall down, but 3k life gone to 0 like that, is really weird... Didn't see any vaal smash either...
