White sockets and New ''corrupted'' label on teaser blade.

What if corrupted was a requirement to use corrupted skill gems or you couldnt use normal skill gems in the items and we where yet to discover what corrupted skill gems are.

maybe its the new feature of the 4 month league

I expect:

1) White sockets not to appear in items you find, but instead only be craftable.

2) Corruption being on items not having an immediate effect. Instead, corruption will change the items in time, or as you make use of them. The change will probably be of adverse nature, so it's the players job to stop it. How?

3) Blood of the Vaal to be comparable to the Diablo II world events. I don't see GGG either creating just another expansion to acts 1, 2 or 3 or even starting act 4 with Blood of the Vaal content so you can slay Atziri in the first third of the act, like Brutus in act 1. Why? Because GGG stated Blood of the Vaal is not the next act.
So "something" happens, the corruption starts, probably there will be maps that you have to play to fight it. This event may even have some global parts, where whole leagues will have to fight together. Of course not in the same instance, but say against a huge Corruption HP pool.
In short, this mini-expansion would be improved endgame diversity, something which a lot of players requested.

If this is the case, it will:

1) Give solo/self-found a bit more flexibility at no cost, yet no actual increase in character strength.
2) Provide great whining the likes of which this forum has yet seen.

First of all it must affect all items not just weapons and gems.Anyone else reads lore in this game or is it just me.

My guess is corrupted gear will be destroyed somehow but can roll white sockets. It will most likely only appear on drops.

I'm hoping it's leveling gear, gear that can earn XP, like gems, and progress.
