If someone is going to RMT currency to buy my item, where do i stand in the rule books?

Explained in title.

Almost all currency was generated by bots.

Very simply ask how many exalts and eternals have you personally found in all your time playing. The drop rates were likely eventually balanced around bots.

Your options are:
  • Pretend you don't know they're using RMT and proceed. As long as you aren't RMTing, GGG won't do anything to you, really ever.
  • Do the right thing. After they've RMT'd, make like you're about to trade with them, but cancel at the trade confirmation screen. Then send an email to support@grindinggear.com with their character name and any relevant screenshots.

does this mean

person a has good x
person b would like to buy x from person a
person b then rmts for currency
person b then purchases x from person a using rmt'd currency

?

if so i guess it isn't really your fault unless you explicitly knew the person rmt'd, i mean it's like using counterfeit money irl, it's not really your fault if you end up receiving counterfeits in a transaction so long as you didn't know it was counterfeit
if he did why cant u ay

what option do you think most players take, Scrotie?
look around and take a wild guess.

right thing, my ass.
Alva: I'm sweating like a hog in heat
Shadow: That was fun
Screenshots are nowhere enough proof.

How would you know someone RMT'ed currency to buy your item other than the fact their some random level 72 ranger with no trade history?

regardless, you will never punished for accepting a trade from an rmter assuming the goods you were giving out was poe items and currency and only such.

The wrong one. Wrong is often popular.

If you do the right thing by not selling it, nowhere.
No longer a forum dweller, please use PM for contact purposes.
so if you get a big ticket item and try to sell it for 10-15+ exalts you must assume that everybody who tries to buy it RMTed the currency, and need to try and report them at the time of the transaction?

yes I can see how that would go very well...

Unless you have some irrefutable proof from somewhere else, or know the person prior to the transaction, just the fact that he has the currency means nothing and proves nothing so you should just go with it.
