Kripp: Path of exile is more like d3 now
I don't even see how you can compare the 2. PoE is so much more advanced than D3.
Censored.

I have hundred of hours (maybe even a thousand each) in both games, since when they were released around 2012-2013.
From where we are today, PoE is getting better with each version and expansion, things are much improved. However, there remains some sticking points that still exist, and if not addressed, can erode the gamer base very soon. Things like Master rota tedium, lack of any partying options etc. D3 was highly problematic, and the years after Josh Mosh took over from Jay Wilson, saw some salvation. However, it is apparent no one at Blizzard really cares about the game any more (Josh left and now they put some placeholder WoW director in charge). Not only is it stagnating, but dying a certain death. I believe it will slowly phase out over the next year or so, perhaps they have D4 in the works. I'm not optimistic because D3 was not a Diablo game to begin with; nobody has the vision of David Brevik and the musical style of Matt Uelmen. If anything, after 5 years it is my opinion PoE is the more genuine successor to the Diablo franchise, and to my interpretation that is what Kripp is saying. One is looking better with time despite humble beginnings, and the other seems to have squandered its birthright. Последняя редакция: Hayrich#0469. Время: 5 янв. 2018 г., 14:26:31

What he said isn't wrong so I'm not sure where all the salt is coming from.

" He's not comparing them, he stated that POE moved toward the scale to being more like D3 (in some aspects) like D3 moved the scale to be more like POE. |

Poe is moving toward casuality and Im ok with it. More casual more players more growth more lifetime. Until it crosses the line of D3 which it hasnt yet.

Pretty sure he isn't talking about "casuality", just that everyone here seems to be obsessed over PoE becoming more accessible.
Because as far as I can tell, D3 isn't becoming more complex or intricate. It's actually dying, nobody watches it on Twitch streams, streamers are dropping it due to low viewership. |

I don't think "lack of partying options" is a global problem with PoE that is going to significantly affect the player base. Master stuff, performance issues (I don't have them, but I see a ton of complaints), accessibility to new players (how many orbs are there?), the utter dilution of affixes on loot making 99% or more of drops garbage, trading options (ongoing I like it/I hate it debate).....and what I see as an actual designed increase in trade dependency being baked in by GGG with the new Atlas, increased affixes, and their approach of making all the defensive options similar(ly bad).

" An interesting trap. Either I point out everything I have done for the game, both recently and in the past, and appear unduly arrogant per what many perceive me to be, or I say nothing, and you feel like you've won. So I'll take the middle ground: you're entitled to your opinion but you're wrong. Kripp is irrelevant in that he has no stake in the game and can casually state his opinion almost in passing, which no doubt he did. The OP was a fool for even pointing it out but I guess this is what people do, cling to their old idols even when said idols dumped them and theirs years ago. Could someone like Kripp bring many players to PoE from D3? He could and he did. A fair number of them supported; quite a few brought their expectations of the game and probably set it on the course it's on today, which is ironic given the whole 'it's more like D3 now' call. But WOULD he, now? Hell no. There's nothing in it for him. He is Blizzard's bitch now, and given how much cash that's making him, who cares? Great work if you can get it. Don't bother replying. You're either a Kripp fanboy in denial (still?) or you're just projecting your own pointlessness when you state any one person's opinion is more important than your own. Or mine. Cya. If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between. I am Path of Exile's biggest whale. Period. Последняя редакция: Foreverhappychan#4626.
