Missing the point. Weapon mechanic is pointless. What currency is here is You Attetion. And that hipster-sword is great thing to focus attention on.

Just that. Mechanics doesnt matter. Works.

Personality is the key.

And PoE has a specific one. And that sword is great. Because more dialogues should be much more loose cannons and more jokes like Katarina from Van Hellsing. That ghosts dialogues are poetry :)

You know what's hilarious? He says that but he's farmed at least 2 of them and has at least 2 more still farming. Just look at his characters before they go private. xD

The argument behind that power creep was that core game is already something people rush if they want to. The time they spend farming for the sword (6+ hours, typically) could have been spent rushing to maps. There's no such thing as powercreep if, all things being equal, the content is already trivial.

And no newcomer is going to just randomly find the sword. GGG made sure of that.

The Goddess Bound is pretty much the same dps at level 7. Scorned is probably higher damage at level 28. TGU was higher consistent damage at level 52. But none of them scale, so they become irrelevant before too long, outside of very specialised 'do it because I can' style builds.

I'm very sure that spending 6 hours for a guaranteed shaper capable 6l weapon is way more worthy than getting to maps a little earlier.
